I hope that Miranda moves on from Steve. Sorry Steve fans, but I just never warmed to him. Heh. I actually really liked Steve, but I agree with you. I don't really enjoy the direction he and Miranda have gone in. I'd be happy if she moved on. I like Steve, and I totally believed that he loved her, but I never really believed that Miranda loved Steve as much as he loved her. I thought she was settling when she married Steve-not that Steve is not a good guy, but he is not Miranda's type. I think Steve sensed that which is what probably drove him to cheat-not that it makes it okay. I'm not buying Miranda as a devoted mother either. I still think she is married to her career. Maybe they should divorce, have Steve get custody of Brady, and have Miranda play child support.

I agree with you there discoprincess. I never got why Miranda went ahead with the pregnancy, she just wasn't that person. I understand that having the baby allowed the character to develop, but could they not have chosen another storyline rather than 'maternity makes the hard-arsed career woman soften'.
I like the UN translator guy she hooked up with.

As Blair Underwood has departed In Treatment, perhaps he and Miranda can unite for some revenge sex? I agree with you there discoprincess. I never got why Miranda went ahead with the pregnancy, she just wasn't that person. Because Charlotte had a hissy fit and vented spleen at her until her reserves broke. If widdle Charlotte has trouble conceiving, heaven forbid anyone contemplate an abortion. God, I hate Charlotte. She was such a fucking child. That Kristin Davis is the weakest actress of the quartet by a looong shot did not help. The only thing I liked about her was her bald-headed hairy-backed husband and cute Chinese baby, but after 5 years of her, it was too little, too late.

Whoops, in my blind hatred of Carrie I forgot about Miranda's lazy ovary.

I loved seasons 1-3 of the show, but not 4-6 and most of that had to do with Carrie -- she was jsut so selfish and annoying. I disliked the movie (especially after a second viewing) and just wish they would leave it alone. The writing (in the movie) was terrible -- no real wit-- and I just cannot see where else they could take these characters and I love Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda. I just despise Carrie.

Yes, I despise Carrie as well. And I only liked seasons 1 and 2, and, to some extent, 3. I watched all of them and the movie, of course And I really liked the little segments they did in the first season with New Yorkers just talking about their relationships; I liked when the Sex and the City screenwriters did that in He's Just Not That Into You. In seasons 1 and 2, I felt, the show was unique - about 4 single women who aren't in their 20's, talking honestly and openly about fucking. The girls each had their lay of the episode, who was weird and/or interesting and/or entertaining in a funny way. And then they all got into more conventional relationships and the show became more like everything else on TV. Plus the show itself became less about characters and more about fashion porn. I think Miranda had the baby because she figured she'd never get around to it otherwise, or might not be able to when she finally decided to go ahead (remember how she called her and Steve's sex "the Special Olympics of conception?"), so she thought "might as well". It was a practical decision, very much her style.

That's not the way it was depicted on screen, though. Miranda was in a relationship with Blair Underwood's Mr Perfect and she dumped him for Steve, so she didn't settle, she actually chose Steve. (Whether or not I think that was realistic is another story).
I thought she did learn some French? She was listening to tapes before she went and during the Paris episodes (which are only watchable for the pretty clothes) she tries to speak a little.

(Whether or not I think that was realistic is another story). I thought Miranda started obsessing over Steve once he got involved with Debbie (the old dog-in-the-manger syndrome). Speaking of leaving Mr. Perfect for the schlub, Charlotte sold that scenario more convincingly when she passed over the Jewish version of the perfect Park Avenue potential husband at the Jewish singles event. Can we bring back Aidan for the movie so Carrie can chase after him for the third time? If she leaves Big for him, I would laugh so hard.

Please no. I always felt like I should like Aiden, but he was like nails down a chalkboard. He annoyed me to the point where I cheered Carrie on during the affair with Big.
