I think the movie would be a real drag without Samantha.

Yeah, and without her, they can say goodbye to ever doing a third (*shudder*) movie, too.

Yeah, and without her, they can say goodbye to ever doing a third (*shudder*) movie, too. Exactly, they would have to decide to end the franchise at that point and I don't think they are ready to do that yet (unless this one bombs).

There were many death rumors preceding the first movie, and I remember Michael Patrick King saying after it premiered that didn't understand why. Did people really think he'd make a sad movie?
I can't see him killing one of the girls. But we'll see.
I have just been watching the series on reruns, and I'm just at the part where Big marries Natasha. I think that was my favorite part of the series -- Carrie and Aidan, her cheating, the proposal, Miranda's pregnancy. Although I despised Trey.

There are pictures of Kim in a wedding gown, and their is a rumored return of Smith. So we'll see. If they were smart they really WOULD throw in red herrings this time. They tried to say that before the last movie - that scenes might be fakes, dreams, etc. But it was all true (bride Carrie, pregnant, Charlotte).

I think there might be a lot of flashbacks in the new one. (How they're going to make the actresses look twenty years younger is beyond me.) It's possible that some of the costumes we're seeing are for events that happened in the years before the show took place. Samantha's wedding for instance - she seems to have tried everything once.

I much preferred Aidan to Big. Big was always an arrogant asshole. But that's what Carrie apparently wanted. They ended up making Aidan a doormat, but he was a much more likable character (and HOT in his second incarnation!).
I'm sure they'll find a way to make this stupid.

I like the fact that Aidan is back, I really hope it isn't in a silly way. Give him a good story in whatever form. As much as I like seeing the clothes, the shoes and the apartments of SATC, I would like the writers to dig maybe a little deeper like maybe introducing Carrie's mother into the picture or her father that left the family when Carrie was little. I have just always wondered about Carrie's mom.

The first one was on TV the other day. Had seen this only once before and wasn't impressed. Second viewing didn't really change my mind on it but I did wonder about Charlotte. I know she had this emotional scene with Carrie where she confessed that she was afraid something bad would happen to her because everything was so perfect in her life then. Other than that Charlotte did nothing in this movie except pulling stupid faces and being a total clown. And if the trailer of the second one is anything to go by, that's what she's doing again. I really liked her when the show was still on but was slightly confused by what they had done to MovieCharlotte.
Anyway, I don't think I'll see the new one in a cinema. I'll get a kick out of looking at the actresses' fabulous premiere dresses that they're going to wear at the different premieres.

Yeah, Charlotte seems to be whining about motherhood in this movie - and we know it because her kid plants two perfect, color coordinated hand prints on Charlotte's ass. It's a real issue that will get zero time because Carrie needs to leave Big a couple hundred more times.
From what I can tell of the previews, Carrie is back in her old apartment .. again (looking down at Big, who has no doubt come to claim her again). How does that keep happening? It's also been all over the place that Carrie and Aidan kiss. Sarah herself said that it's a free pass, and something she would never tell Matthew about if it happened in real life. Kisses with other men are apparently free. Who knew?
