Yes, I wish they would have explored that a little more. My child-free married friend and I saw the movie and both of us nodded knowingly at that part. Yeah, we saw the Heigel movie trailer too. Not everyone wants kids, and most parents I know aren't terribly happy. I'm not saying they made a mistake, I just see how much work and sacrifice it is and I know that's not what I want in my life.

If I want a realistic hard hitting movie I can watch Precious or something where Charlize Theron plays an ugly person. I hope you don't mind but I'm using this as my new signature! SATC2 was just as fluffy and light as the first one was so I didn't mind it. Yeah, I think the girls lack some serious perspective but they've always sort of lived in their own world.

Its the kind of movie that you really should not think very hard about. I just liked seeing what they would wear although it is getting more and more outlandish- I used to covet Charlotte's wardrobe and even she is over the top now. I read somewhere that SATC is a fairy tale- I think it was a quote from SJP. That is how I view the movies (which seem to be more outlandish than the show), a fun, frothy fairy tale.
And Liza was divine!

I saw it today. This is the first time that I've liked Miranda, she was a blast in Abu Dhabi but everything that Samantha said and did made me cringe. I was also impressed that Big and Carrie didn't reevaluate after that odd wedding conversation.

What was weird was that there were several women in the theater who dressed up in cocktail dresses and high heels to see the movie, which was a noon showing on Memorial Day. Yes, I know it's a fairy tale, but I think some women use it as a rubric for life.

A few might *try* to use it as a rubrick, but I think 1) it is really hard to pay for it and 2) STUFF happens day to day to get in the way of fabulousity for most of us.
I did like Miranda a ton in this movie, first time I really cheered for her a lot since she dated Blair Underwood.

It's too bad that her plotline got, like, two minutes of screentime.
The Charlotte and Miranda getting drunk scene was probably the best in the movie.

As a harried mother of 2 toddlers, I was crying when Char and Mir. were talking about their kids.

I'm looking forward to seeing this some day when it gets to my satellite dish (I can wait), and I'm glad the reviews are negative because then I won't expect much and will probably enjoy it. Nothing worse than watching "the greatest movie ever!" and being bored.
I do find the show's travel locations odd. In the first movie they ended up in Mexico? Really? Isn't that the equivalent of Florida, even if you do go to a fancy 10-star resort (Florida has those too). Mexico is nice, but I would have expected someone like Big - with his money and high-end tastes - to plan a honeymoon in Tahiti or something.
And now they end up in the Abu Dhabi? I guess I have to see the movie and find out what plot points bring them there, but I would think that if the writers/producers want to have the "girls" travel to an exotic location together, wouldn't Paris be the logical choice? I know the show has gone there before, but not the women together. Or maybe somewhere in Italy? It just seems like they threw a dart at a world map and said, "Let's write the movie about them ending up in...... oh! Abu Dhabi."

Apparently they needed to set up the stunningly bad storyline about Muslims not understanding sex or Samantha. And the gag about the women in designer clothes under burkas.
