I wouldn't bet against 3 happening, 'cause JJ can't resist a love triangle (see: Lost, Felicity, Alias). In fact, I think that Spock/Uhura was done partly so they could include Kirk's (awesome) reaction to it.
I know fans generally hate love triangles, but in the case of Star Trek, I do think Pine and Saldana had a ton of chemistry on screen and a director probably wouldn't want that to go to waste.

The lens flares really didn't bother me. I do hope Abrams fights the urge to get geometrical with Spock/Kirk/Uhura.

Totally unplanned did I see the movie today and I freakin' loved it. It definitely deserved the praise it got IMO.

So I just saw the movie for the first time and had never previously seen the show or anything and thought the movie was fantastic. Can't wait for the sequel. All I want is a sex scene with Spock and Uhura in the sequel though. Loved them.

Wow, this was so good! My husband was a little put out with the alternate universe, but I think that it had to be done. JJ, as I have said many a time, is a genius. The cast- perfect. The action- brilliant. Can't wait for the sequel!
And the new Kirk? Oh my. Totally hot and does such a good job capturing the essence of Kirk without doing a caricature.
Spock! Starfleet Academy! Romulans! It was so great to see the old favorites injected with a much-needed dose of cool, but still retaining the elements that we love so much about Star Trek.
And did I mention how hot the new Kirk is? *fans self*
