I think he'd make a good Vulcan or Romulan, but they've already done the Romulans. Who knows what JJ has up his sleeve, but I think BC will be a good villain.

Very intriguing casting. I'm guessing he'll be either a aristocratic type a la Christopher Plummer's Chang in ST:VI or a mad scientist type similar to Malcom McDowell's Soran in ST:VII.

HEE. Me too. I just realized that I think I've seen every single Star Trek movie in the theater since The Undiscovered Country, when I was a little kid.

First photos from set. They feature Benedict Cumberbatch, Zachary Quinto, and Zoe Saldana. They were taken while a scene was being filmed so yeah some what spoilery (I doubt anyone could figure out the plot from them).

I've seen some speculation that he's playing Gary Mitchell, but it's just that - pure speculation.
