Thanks for the reviews. I can't wait to see it! And not just because I want Benedict to do naughty things to my no-no parts! I went into this having no idea who he is, and he was impressive! He has a very nice voice. He'd be good at reading stories out loud.

I thought it was SO good, but perhaps that's not surprising since I was always more of TNG fan than TOS? I thought Cumberbatch was fantastic, loved all the Kock interactions, thought the action scenes were great. My only quibble is that Alice Eve's character seemed a little unnecessary, but otherwise I thought it was amazing. This is me too. I'm a NextGen Trekker, all the way. I've seen TOS of course but it was on so far before my time that I'm really not attached to it at all. And I can take or leave Cumberbatch but that voice of his gave me the shivers every single time he spoke. He totally needs to use his villain voice more often. And my favorite part by far was {Spoiler}Spock yelling out "KHAAAAAAN!!!" I was so hoping someone would get to do it and it was awesome. I was not disappointed.

I never watched the show, nor any of the other movies before this reboot and thought the movie was good. I never got the Benedict crush, but now I get it. He only looks good in that dark hair and only in certain angles when speaking, but I get.....kind of.

I'm a huge Trek fan and I loved this one. Some definite issues but I love them flipping everything one their asses.

I saw it last night with Le Boyfriend and loved it, Trek fangirl that I am. Zachary Quinto has captured Nimoy's speech patterns perfectly, and I liked Leonard Nimoy's cameo in the film and the reference to the ending of Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan.
Best of all, everyone on the Enterprise crew gets a chance to shine. I do like Spock and Uhura's relationship here, too. Uhura isn't written simply as Spock's love interest, but a capable, resourceful officer. Also, Carol Marcus appears to be joining the crew, so there'll be two females in the main cast. This is good, IMO.
And Cumberbatch is soooooo good as the villain here. When the camera closes in on his face--BRRRRRRRRRR!

Just saw it and loved it. Chris Pine has the nicest blue eyes and Cumberbatch was an excellent villain. Dare say we liked it more than the first one.

I've avoided spoilers. I knew about Khan thanks to ONTD's rant about him. Everything else was unknown. OMG...I cried. I haven't cried at a Trek movie since Wrath of Khan.
I loved this movie. I will be seeing it again. In IMAX 3D. I wasn't impressed with Alice Eve in the trailers, but I liked her character. I liked that she seemed to bond more with Bones, who needs some help on his pickup lines. I loved Uhura & Spock fighting and Kirk being the 3rd wheel.
All the kudos to Benedict. I love him as Sherlock, but he surpassed that with this performance. I saw the sex appeal.
My biggest praise is for Captain Fine. He showed some serious range.
Really impressed with the entire cast. This was a well made movie with a few things that made me scratch my head, but was overall excellent.

WAY back...seriously it is one of my all-time favorite movies. I thought this was a great homage.

I know I don't play on Zachary Quinto's team, but I still have fantasies about him. He is great as Spock! A girl can dream can't she?!!

I totally didn't realize that Carol Marcus was the mother of Kirk's child. Oops. Not in this timeline, which I'm fine with. I liked her with Bones.
