...you realize you're positively fucked for your final exams, but think to yourself, "If only they tested me on my pop culture knowledge instead!"
Sigh.
I really should study for more than 10 mintues straight.

(3) When it's Sunday night and you're irritated not that you've got to work on Monday morning, but that, like clockwork, Monday morning brings out the crazy on the board. That's right folks...I work at a government agency whose clients are primarily the mentally disabled, but instead I spend the end of my weekend fretting about dealing with morons who start spazzing on the celebrity section on Monday morning Really? It's like that? How interesting! Why do you suppose that is? Perhaps because people who don't have the internet at home have bottled up the crazy over the weekend, whereas the rest of us let the crazy come out gradually over Saturday and Sunday? Or is it because people are pissed to be back at work? Very curious, indeed. As for the name change, well, it is your board. I really like the name you have, but if you want a change, why not? Alternatively, you could make it the subtitle. Just my two cents. But I really think people would accept whatever decision you want to make (so long as it isn't changed on a Monday morning, apparently). It's sweet of you to think about what everybody else would think, though.

My god, mrpancake, me too. I just finished finals and was still totally checking the boards all the time.
I kept thinking, hmm, maybe one of my essay questions will be a detailed question asking the reader to lay out their arguments for Team Pillow or Fetus and how awesome I'd rock it. But no, we had to write about other things. And it's film studies, so it'd be totally relevant to have celeb questions!

What was really sad is a student in one of my classes was doing a research project about current event knowledge versus pop culture knowledge. Sigh...I knew every. single. pop culture question, even ones about Mischa Barton's boyfriend (Cisco Adler) and other semi-obscure stuff. To be fair, though, I did also know about 95 percent of the current event knowledge stuff. But yeah...and I finished it super quickly, whereas other people took forever. I zoomed right along, especially past the pop culture part. Pretty good for someone who doesn't watch TV, but I'd bet most people who saw my scores would think I did nothing else! Dammit, it's sad that I can nearly recap The View each day without actually having watched a single second of it.

YKYAW...You have been away for a couple of weeks, and after a really rough day you can pop in and have a good laugh or hear a really good, or gross (if you like the TMI thread) story and feel a little bit better. This place is like Cheers, only I have to bring my own booze and Cliff and Norm are discussing Suri Cruise with the rest of the gang.

You know you're addicted to CPMoG when you stumble over another, similar board that got started after the FT meltdown, and you feel so guilty for spending time at that site and even laughing when reading some of the threads.

YKYAT CPMCoG...
when you have a dream about one of the Mods & other posters... which I did last night. Topher was telling me off for getting him hooked on the 4400, saying he watched enough television as it was and didn't need to watch any more, but I was so excited, I was jumping around in glee.
Then, I was suddenly sitting outside at this outdoor restaurant in Houston I really like, with Topher, Sleepy, Shawna (and her cat Charlie) and Swanflake. Swanflake was brandishing a copy of the MySpace sex survey. Sleepy was a pink-ribboned llama and they refused to serve her margaritas because it would be "animal cruelty." We kept trying to explain that Sleepy wasn't really a llama, but they looked at us as though we were crazy. Then Alex rode up on Barbaro who was draped with an American flag with bullet holes in it (probably the one some soldiers who had served in Iraq brought him the other day, and that part is true, btw).
Then I woke up.

YKYA...when you do some forum browsing in the morning, then decide to have a nap, and you dream youre still browsing, and the moderator for your other fave forum decides to sign up here, and gets banned within 2 posts for posting in colours and bold letters.
And you wake up and laugh your arse off.
