Pamela Anderson has bought a condo at a $US1 billion ($1.4 billion) luxury high-rise under construction just west of the Las Vegas Strip.

The former Baywatch star bought a two-bedroom penthouse unit measuring more than 185 square metres and with views of the Strip facing north, south and east.

Laurence Hallier, chairman of Hallier Properties LLC, which is developing Panorama Towers, made the announcement.

Similar units sell for more than $US2 million, he said.

Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire and The Aviator star Leonardo DiCaprio are also reported to have bought into the development, the first tower of which is expected to be complete by midsummer.

Hallier said confidentiality clauses prevented him from disclosing his list of celebrity clients, although Anderson did not impose such a restriction.

Anderson, who visits Las Vegas about six to eight times a year, bought a unit in Tower 4, which won't be ready until late 2008, Hallier said.

"She lives in Malibu. So for now she's fine," he said.

Me too. I know he said he likes it all open, and he doesn't worry about people seeing him because he has no neighbors, but still...that makes me so nervous. I need to be able to ensure no one could see in. I wouldn't turn his house down, though, if I got it for free!

If anyone's interested, this week's People (with Christopher and Dana Reeve on the cover) has a one-pager on the demolition of Sandra Bullock's multi-million dollar estate in Austin. There are a few shots of damaged, rotted wood used in construction and a really great shot of a chimney that looks like my three-year-old stacked it. There's also a shot of Sandra behind the controls of a bulldozer.

She donated all usable materials to Habitat for Humanity and says she'll probably rebuild on the same lot. Just goes to show you--even smart, involved celebrities like Sandra can get snookered by unethical builders.

That site is mistaken. Click on Stella Tennant, and you will see the same house. It's Chatsworth, in the UK, which is the family home of the Duke of Devonshire. Stella Tennant is the present Duke's niece.

I don't know where Isabella Rossellini lives, but it's not there!
