I also think blond hair is associated with youth, so men who have a boyish attribute of youth might appear less mature and manly.

Speaking of blondes, Heather Graham is one of those people who seems to have been around forever, she's popped up in a million movies and a billion TV shows (she's on this week's Portlandia, apparently, of all shows!). I'm not even sure how old she is - I'm thinking close to 40 if not over. She's very beautiful, she's no more or less talented than Cameron Diaz or Anna Farris, she's been in some really respectable films as a lead "Boogie Nights" and "Drugstore Cowboy" just off the top of my head. It seems she should at least be as famous as, I don't know, Elizabeth Banks?

Heather was also in the second Austin Powers movie.
I don't know, I've never really liked her "deer in the headlights" looks and facial expression. I mean when it works, it works- a la "Boogie Nights" where the character is kind of a bimbo, but otherwise, not so much. Disliked her in "Twin Peaks". She was also in a lot of bombs after her "it girl" period.
Cameron just has a lot more range and personality IMO- she was able to move from eye-candy roles to stuff like "Being John Malkovich", action, chick-flicks, comedy, drama, etc.
I also think that women like Cameron because she has that non-threatening thing where she's not hung up on being a "hot chick" even though she's beautiful.

Wasn't she also in Bowfinger and rumored to be playing pretty much herself?

It's funny the discussion of dark haired men vs blond haired men because the only time I've found Garret Dillahunt hot was when he had black hair in Last House on the Left. In his normal haircolor, he does nothing for me.
I think the only blond man I've ever really liked has been Alexander Skarsgard. Blonds have never really looked that manly looking to me. After reading that discussion, I feel terrible for feeling that way!

Heather Graham is 40; I think she'll be 41 this year. Don't forget she got her start with Corey Haim in "License to Drive." I think Elizabeth Banks gives off a brainer vibe than Graham. Don't get me wrong, I think Graham is underrated.

I don't find blonde men attractive as a rule. Then there was the Viking Vampire... I guess it's the coloring that usually comes with the blonde hair. I dunno...

Although while I personally preferred Tom (Dukes of Hazzard) and Paul Michael Glaser (Starsky and Hutch) it seemed to me that John Schneider and David Soul (both blondes) were considered to be the heartthrobs from their shows.

Blondeness was very trendy in the 1970s. It went along with all things California back then. There were only a couple of blonde male heartthrobs before the '70s and almost none afterwards.
