Can I add the cast of "the Wire" to this list? Robert Wise ("there's never been a brown paper bag for drugs") . Seth Gilliam last season. These guys should be acknowledged as acting gods, for sure.

With the exception of Heather Headley (only because I don't know who she is) these are all great choices. Loooove Benicio Del Toro, I wrote an essay about his character in Traffic and won a scholarship for it. Also agree with the Ryan Reynolds pick.
On my list would be Diego Luna, who I thought was really the standout in Y Tu Mama Tambien, and Michael Pitt from The Village, Wonderland, and Murder by Numbers. I also like Emile Hirsch, though his career might still take off. And: Peter Dinklage, David Wenham (tied with Viggo for hottest man in LoTR in my opinion), and Henry Cavill.
As for girls...Alia Shawkat is a great comic actress who will probably only get crappy moves like "Prom Wars" thanks to Lindsay, Hilary etc. I like Anna Faris and think she could do more than just bit parts and the Scary Movies. I'm surprised Diane Kruger is not more famous because I think she's one of the most beautiful actresses out there, but so far haven't seen enough to really say anything about her acting. Ditto with her costar Rose Byrne, who is so pretty and reminds me of my favorite, Mary-Louise Parker. They should play sisters.
I'm sure I'll think of more and be back to edit this...

Auroranorth! Right there with ya. So funny you should mention LFN. My husband and I have been renting the DVDs of past seasons of 24 and I have mentioned to him that most of the people who make 24 made LFN. Then, this weekend, I made him watch the first 2 eps of LFN. I think he liked it ok. Or maybe he just wanted me to shut the hell up. Oooh, a fellow Greecie with good taste! Agree on the Ryan Reynolds pick.

I love Michael Pitt! He's in Silk now which has gotten really bad reviews. I think he's gorgeous, but he doesn't really have those leading man looks that mainstream Hollywood goes for. He still has that roundish baby face thing.
I'm always almost buying Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights for Diego Luna, but I just can't bring myself to purchase the DVD in a store. Maybe I'll buy it online.
I always thought that Sherilyn Fenn would have had a big career. I think she's stunning gorgeous. She could have had Catherine Zeta Jones' career.
I also love Meagan Good, who after nice early work in Eve's Bayou seems stuck in "hot girlfriend" role purgatory.

I am always rooting for Hey! It's that Guy! actors, so I think poor old Erick Avari, Alfred Molina and Stellan Skarsgard really don't get their due. The latter two have lucked out with big franchises recently, but even then they don't get the level of fame they deserve. Also totally agree on Oded Fehr. HOTTTTT! I totally agree with this post. Also, you guys have given me some new (to me) actors to check out.

Aw, I hope that isn't true. I love Alia (and on a shallow note, I love her freckles), I think she's brillant and she deserves better than that. I hope she does a lot of indie comedies and then surfaces in the mainstream once she's past the prime age for doing teeny-bopper romcoms.

Nicholas Brendon: Somebody please give him some work!!! He's guest-starring on "Criminal Minds" Nov. 21. He was the only reason I sat through Blade 3. Well, him and his abs.

I agree with those who said Peter Dinklage, Ron Livingston, Barry Pepper, and Alfred Molina. Ron Livingston was doing Spirit commericals not to longer ago. He was so good in Office Space and Swingers. I saw Alfred Molina on broadway in Fiddler on the roof. He was captivating. A few more that I thought of Jessie Martin, Angela Bassett, and Kristen Davis. I hope playing Marvin Gaye will boost Jessie's career. FYI Heather Headley won a Tony award for Adia in 2000 and has a few abums. She should be a triple threat in my opinion (Broadway, movies and music).

Go ahead and laugh at me, but...
I wish Rene Aubernonois (of Benson, Star Trek: DS9, and Boston Legal fame) was more famous. He was one of my favorite Trek actors and he's so amazingly talented.

I've got to third (or forth?) Oded Fehr, and second Gary Cole. I also love Wes Studi. Last of the Mohicans is pretty much perfect in every way, but his performance still stands out. The scene with the French general ,where he explains his hatred for the Engilsh and Mohicans, always gets me. I can just imagine all the yelling, arm-waving, and facial contortions other actors would have done.
