On Sunday, I went on a binge of 48 Hours episodes, and one still sticks in my mind. It's "The Corn Rake Murder" on the death of Amy Mullis. I feel conflicted because it could be a murder, but it's plausible it was an accident. Are there other cases you can think of that there's reasonable doubt?

The Staircase murder is the most notorious one - Batgirl and I just binged the dramatic series on that one with Colin Firth, Toni Collette and Sophie Turner (who I did not have high hopes for as an actress. I loved her as Sansa but wondered if she might be one-note. She wasn't; she was great.) Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix featured a similar case in Calgary, Canada (similar only in that it could have been a fall; the husband was proven to be out of town.)

I know! Except, I do live in an area with owls and they can get really territorial and they will attack so, not gonna lie, I did entertain it.

CW: graphic details in linked article Yeah, the owl theory is outlandish, but some weird murders such as in this article are truly stranger than fiction.

Then I looked it up and had to apologize to her at the next meeting.

Honestly- the craziest part is: it's not that crazy!(re: owl theory) Especially after watching that episode of Unsolved Mysteries referenced above. Very similar type of scene to The Staircase.
For real though: The Staircase documentary is one of the best true crime docs I have ever seen! I highly recommend it.

The Internet is in solidarity condemning Susan Smith request her ex-husband not to challenge her parole for killing his two beautiful baby boys in 1994. May she rot.
