*sheepishly raises hand* Me. Sort of. And it's a pretty recent development. I won't go into details, because I'd be afraid it touches on politics a bit too much, but I've really started to question some stuff. I had a family member who firmly believed that the moon landing was faked. There was no telling him otherwise. Actually, now that I think about it, I've known a shocking number of people who thought that. Maybe it's a backwoods Pennsylvania thing?  |

Lee Harvey Oswald may have been a lone gunman, but there was definitely a mob conspiracy behind him.

I'm curious about the psychological causes of believing in conspiracies. Okay, sure, conspiracies definitely exist, without a doubt. But it seems some people are more prone than others to buy into all kinds of conspiracies. Any thoughts?

And why wasn't everything documented better. There was evidence there that was 'lost', glossed over, or whatever. Evidence that could have proved (I believe) that there was another shooter. Hmmmm.... |

A good book for getting possible answers to some questions that will allow you to feel less guilty about still believing that there was a conspiracy is Gerald Posner's Case Closed. His explanation in some areas (*cough*Ruby!*cough*) was quite weak, and be sure to pay attention to the footnotes. Still, it provides reasonable explanations for certain things, like the physics behind the magic bullet. |
