I think 93 could have been shot down. I can't understand the Pentagon theory though. Some people think the plane had no passengers on it? Isn't that the plane that had the school children on it. I imagine it would be hard to explain that theory to the families of the people on that plane. I do believe that Oswald didn't act alone.

Yeah, I have a friend who lives right outside of D.C. whose children had schoolmates on the plane that struck the Pentagon. I don't understand that theory.
As to 93, I think it being shot down is definitely in the realm of possibility.

I dont understand it either. There were something like 70 people on that plane. All those families are lying? I dont any conspiracy that would rely on that many people keeping a secrete could possibly work.
I could understand 93 being shot down. I could understand why that would be done. And honestly, I could understand the government not wanting to admit it.

All I'll say re: 9/11 is that a ton of New Yorkers now have more allergies/upper respiratory/sinus problems (yours truly included) in the years following, than before the incident. I never had a sinus infection until 2001.
ETA: I'm so torn. Half of me is firmly Occam's Razor, the other half is total conspiracy theory. So many contradictions.

Interesting theory about United 93 being shot down. Has there been any aerial view photos of the crash site? The only picture I can recall is ones on the ground from far away.
Ok, I got my own conspiracy theory concerning Ken Lay, founder of Enron. I find it very coincidental that he drops dead of a heart attack right before his sentencing trial, has a private funeral and ultimately his body is cremated. I am convinced he is chillin on some island somewhere.
I think conspiracy theories are good things. It is important to question authority especially now during this administration, with all its secrets regarding the events during the war, wiretapping, Guantanamo bay etc.

Heh, that is my mom's theory about Ken Lay. And after she explained it out, I totally agree with her.
So I guess that is two theories I believe.

I think I need to believe more conspiracy theories. I take things at face value too much. I asked my husband about the possibility of Flight 93 being shot down. He absolutely does not believe it. Being a rocket scientist and an employed by the AF/DOD, he said that the only planes that could have shot down a jet without being picked up by radar would have been an F22 and F35. Neither of them were in production in 2001. If it was a conspiracy, the order would have had to go down from the President to NORAD- and that is a whole hell of alot of people. I guess they could have made it classified, but what about the air traffic controllers? Cleveland would have seen a fighter plane on their radar. Or, MrB, being an Air Force employee, could be IN on the conspiracy! DUN DUN DUN. ETA: Oh oh! One of my husband's best friends just walked in our door, visiting from DC. He is a Missile Defense employee and was at the Pentagon the day the plane hit (not in the main building, at one of their annexed buildings next door). He was at his desk and HEARD the jet go over and hit the Pentagon. His boss actually watched it thru the window and started evacuating their office before the alarms even went off. AND- a former co-worker of his and MrB's, an Air Force Captain, was actually in the Pentagon parking lot, walking in the main building for a job interview, when he saw the jet slam into the building. So I think I believe that a plane hit the Pentagon, too.

Well, since politics is being touched upon I'll go ahead and say it.
I don't believe Vince Foster committed suicide.
Now, If I said that in my real life everyone would look and me and say No Shit but I have no idea what the response will be here.

Who is Vince Foster?
As for the 9-11 conspiracies, I don't understand why people think it was all planned. It seems like a pretty extreme way to Dubya to justify getting into a war. I mean, if we believe that was the motivation, why not just bomb one thing? Why four planes? It seems like such an elaborate, no-guarantee way to go about it.
I saw a show on Discovery about why the towers fell. All about their unique structure - plus, no building was designed with the idea that it had to withstand a full force impact of a large jet, loaded with highly flammable fuel. Jet fuel burns hot and fast, and yes, Rosie, steel can melt. Duh, blacksmiths?
As for "no plane hit the Pentagon", people actually saw it happen, so that theory is full of hooey. The only one that seems to hold water is that the gov't shot down 93, which is understandable considering the circumstances. And also understandable why they won't admit it.

Interesting Borokat, What about a stealth bomber? That's not radar detectable right? Also does anyone know if Airforce One gets a fighter plane escort whenever it flies?
