I think that when you are raised in something since childhood, your parent is involved, and you grow up associating with people who are involved you are less likely to recognise the danger in an organization. It's what you know so it seems normal to you.

The whole notion that she married Jackson for the church is nothing more then message board speculation that's never been proven. Jackson being the manipulative narcissist that he is, was far more likely the instigator in that relationship. His obssession with being the "King of Pop" - married to rock and roll royalty is a lot more plausable explanation for the relationship. LMP is a mother whose children were young at the time. I seriously doubt she would have knowingly married a pedophile - much less to give him cover to molest more children.

The one time I heard LMP speak out on drugs I found her position to be rather reasonable and not exactly the Scientology party line. Her position was that drugs were being overused with children. Not that they should be banned completely. Just used with more discretion.

That's interesting. I wonder when she started with that? Do you know when that interview was done? I tried to find it. But all I came up with was a '03 interview with Blender and there wasn't anything at all about Scientology.

Anyhoo. I still like her music and given the choice I'd rather my daughter turn out like her then Paris. (assuming those were the only options.)

Re: the Blender interview, it was a couple of months ago. It was the back page interview. I'm trying to find it online, but I haven't been able to so far.

As far as appearing before congress and all that, she's done that for years now. She is the official celebrity head for Scientology's CCHR- which is all about investigating and exposing human rights violations in the psychiatric industries, as their website puts it.

Lisa Marie Presley Marries

Lisa Marie Presley wed guitarist and music producer Michael Lockwood in Kyoto, Japan, her publicist announced Thursday.

The pair were married in a traditional Japanese ceremony on Jan. 22, said Paul Bloch.

This is the fourth marriage for Presley, 38, who previously wed Nicolas Cage, Michael Jackson and Danny Keough. Keough served as Lockwood's best man at the ceremony.

Apparently, Bloch is the cult's first pick for publicist to the cultists.
