Because somehow they think it makes the relationship more valid, more serious or they just get bored and want to do something different. I thought this was her 3rd marriage. I must have missed one of her husbands in the way because I only know of Riley's father and CMJ.

She always looked like a spoiled brat to me.

I've listened to her in a few interviews and she seems like a sane and reasonable person who grew up to be a balanced human being, especially considering what she could have ended up like. I think she had a really good base, you know? Studies have shown that if you have a good first 2 - 3 years of life, no matter what comes after, you have a good chance of growing up healthy. And I think her early childhood was probably pretty awesome. Her parents adored her, there was a houseful of people to adore and talk to the little princess, and it seems as if her mom would have tempered the adulation with discipline.

What I think is happening with these multiple marriages for Lisa Marie is that subconsciously she's looking for her daddy, like so many woman to, in her marriage partner. And by that I don't mean anything sick, I mean she's looking for unconditional, bigger than life love from a charismatic, powerful man. But since her father died when she was still so young she wasn't able to view him through the eyes of an adult and pick out what was normal, good, bad etc. Lisa Marie has also said that she did not get along wit her mom's boyfriends after her dad died, so it is not as if she could have a healthy loving example from them. All of these marriages indicated a deep loneliness and I just feel sad for her.

She is a complete idiot. It makes me roll my eyes every time she goes trotting out to testify before congress about how children are overmedicated. Yes, some of them certainly are, but exactly what makes Lisa Marie Presley an authority on the topic? Because she has a famous last name? Because she has the money to get to Level 34867billionwhatever in her cult? I hate celebs who think their opinions are so much more important and smarter than anyone else's.

As for her marriage, I have never heard of this "Michael Lockwood" dude, but I'd say it's a safe bet that he's a clam.

I'm old enough to remember when she was born and that she was around 8 or 9 years old and at Graceland when her dad died. I blame her ma for getting her involved in the cult, thus warping her mind even worse than the trauma of her dad's death. I always think of her as the poor little rich girl of her generation; I thought she was the cutest baby and little girl; Elvis doted on her. IIRC, Lisa Marie was born 9 months after they married. When he died, she was old enough to have memories of being adored by her dad.

I agree with the poster who said that she's looking for that father figure that she lost when Elvis died. So I often feel bad for her; she has all the money, everything she could possibly want, but she doesn't have her dad to look out for her like he used to. I can relate because my father died when he was 36 and I was 14. I was Daddy's baby and I'm just getting over his death yet I'm 10 years older than she is.

She needed counseling to help her cope with the death but since her ma was involved with the cult that hates psychiatry, psychology and psychoanalysis, she didn't get what she really needed. I needed counseling to deal with my father's death but I didn't get it because (a) black folk didn't do couseling in the 70s and (b) we couldn't afford it.
