In the BSC Friends Forever series, Sharon and Richard are still together, but Logan and Mary Anne aren't. I've never read "The Fire at Mary Anne's House", but I think one of the FF books mentioned something about an appliance that was accidentally left on overnight. After the fire, the Spiers/Schafers rented the house next door to Claudia's while they converted the barn into a new house.

Dug up this thread because I just got hold of some BSC graphic novels. They suck! They serve no purpose (except for me to come here and snark on them). All they are is the boring BSC book plots in picture form. I thought they'd be jazzed up, maybe cartoony, maybe a bit snarky, maybe updated, but no. They are literally the plots of a has-been series in drawing form, plain and simple. And the drawings are not that great. I am dumbfounded as who would want to read these.
I will say I want to get a look at one that features Mallory. I don't know how any artist will be able to capture her extreme ugliness.

Unfortunately, fugly Mallory will never be immortalized in comic form. I know the artist, and she has said that the fourth comic (Claudia and the Mean Janine) will be the last.

It must be real if it's on Amazon...right?
If it is, I wonder of Ann M. Martin is the actual writer or if they got a ghostwriter to do it. It doesn't look that promising but if it actually gets published I kind of do want to read it. If only for old times sake.

If it really comes out, I'll absolutely read it. I never read the last 30 books in the series or the "Friends Forever" spin-off, but this sounds promising. What I really want is a follow-up of the girls after they graduate high school or something. That would be interesting.
I wonder if they'll use the original cover artist who always drew the girls like they were pushing 25, or go with the person who re-conceptualized the girls for the short lived graphic novel attempts. I'd go with Hodges.

Hodges Soileau! As a kid, I always assumed the name referred to a school of artists who drew thirteen year olds who looked like grown women, and somehow got hired to illustrate the covers of the Babysitters Club books. It just didn't sound like somebody's first and last name.

I'd go with Hodges. Yeah. The author of the graphic novels (Raina something) posts on the BSC LJ group and she said she learned about the prequel with everyone else.

I liked the Friends Forever series a lot, actually, and the "Dawn" California Diaries books. I bought all of those but I wouldn't buy the new one, just get it at the library.
