Hey Dunne and Condit have settled the lawsuit - yay! I heart DD and hope he didn't have to pay that greaseball too much.

I adore Vanity Fair. It is gossip for the ages---all ages.
From KiMOREa Lee, Kick Ass Bitch Phat Ass Queen, to Whatshername, the only woman with any style in the USofA, who is now dying of emphysema or 40 year starvation diets or Yves Saint Laurent Constriction Ruffles around her neck, I forget which. I love it all.
And those half naked models on the beach in this month's issue or Brad Pitt half naked on the beach in some other issue or naked women photographed by a reclusive silent film star in his lair on Sunset Blvd; I "read" it all.
One day, I too will become very eccentric but entertaining when I get the money for it. And Christopher Hitchens will blow smoke in my eyes and tell how wonderful the US Empire is. And Jesus will dine with me and Mr. Dunne and bring the wine. Forget Liz, she's goofy.

Oooh, damn, that cover shoot info is juicy. Wow. That must have been quite a spectacle. So, Marcia Cross is the bitch? Moldy - hell yeah! I need to see a big fat warning under your name, stat!

Hey Dunne and Condit have settled the lawsuit - yay! I heart DD and hope he didn't have to pay that greaseball too much. Well...except he did kind of blatantly call Condit a murderer for a couple of years in print. No matter what you think of "Blowdry," I'd say in this case Dunne was the villain.

In the May issue of VF, in Dominick Dunne's article he says
and that is it...not a continuation to the back pages, nothing on the next page.
Was that intentional, or am I missing something?

That article about Petra Nemcova was one of the most badly written pieces in VF for awhile. It was just one cliche after another, and it did that thing I HATE where on the one hand the writer is playing up the pathos and adorability of the tearful supermodel, and on the other hand she's kind of slyly taking the piss out of her for being naive and earnest. That kind of journalism is so wimpy and shit.
It also seemed borderline exploitative, the poor woman is obviously traumatized - I dunno, it just made me feel icky.

She ain't that traumatized. She broke her pelvis and is using crutches and yet wears 3-inch-plus heels. Stupid, stupid supermodel. Her brain must have been flushed out of her ears with the Tidal Wave.
As for Mr. Dunne's stories, none of them really have any substance to them, now do they?
"I saw Liz lunching at the Cool Spot the other day. We spoke.
I went to the Pope Convention and asked Cardinal Cauliflower who he was voting for. He was wearing a smashing red gown.
I went to Eric Rudolph's trial in Atlanta. His nose is very big and red. He sh*t in the woods when he was hiding in them."
What's the story? For a Gossip Columnist, he has no stories. Or he's saving them for heaven and not me.

I still relish getting it, then I put it in my bag and read it in dribs and drabs all damn month. The very opposite of "can't put it down" reading.
