Vanity Fair is my very favourite magazine. It is hard for me to get as I live miles and miles away from civilization. I finally got the Jennifer Aniston Cover. The whole time I was reading the article I felt so bad for her but when I was finished I thought - Um bad move maybe you should have kept your mouth shut.
If that was me I would be embarrassed to have "The Other Woman" and my EX read some of the stuff she said and how many times she cried. I also didn't think those were the most flattering pictures. Panties and kneesocks really aren't that hot. But then I guess she knows what would turn Brad on and make him regret giving her up.
If that was me I would be going on and on about how wonderful it would be to be single and not have him around to eat all the ice cream and fart in bed.

My friend bought the JA issue as well and said that the whistleblower article was amazing. I really think it is an underrated magazine because it has some incredible investigative journalism that it doesn't get credit for. Some months are better than others of course.

A bone to pick with Mr. Dominick Dunne. I have just started to peruse my new Vanity Fair with her on the cover. I just keep it folded back and turned in to Mr. Dunne's Diary. And in the second paragraph he writes something so ignorant, that I am surprised that the editors would let it get by: He is essentially writing about being back in London after the Terrorist attack and how different it was than about 5mos ago when he was last there. (getting away from having his assed sued and paying up that is) He even admits to an amount of racial profiling, (who doesn't these days, this coming even from me a Black guy who should know better) I think "At least he is being honest about it." He says that he finds himself drawing away from Muslim men with backpacks, Muslim women in burkas and turning down taxis when he sees that the drivers aren't British. How Mr. Dunne can tell someone is "British" just from looking at them in as diverse a place as London is beyond me. (OK I think to myself, the man has his demons , whatever.) Then comes the words: (italics are mine) Mr Dunne, I am going to go out on a limb, as I have never been to London, or Europe for that matter, but I am going to say , right now, that 99.99% of the "people you looked twice at" have Nothing whatsoever to do with "terrorists" or "suicide bombers" He even goes on to say how quickly the police were to track down the terrorist who were responsible , without once mentioning the poor sod the police accidentally killed first (executed in some opinion) on the London tube. Not to mention the coverup that ensued. (He was running away, jumped the turnstile, wearing bulky jacket - No he was: walking to the station, stopped to look at a free paper and was actually in the grip of an officer who subsequently had to be pulled off of him in order for the 5 shots to be fired into his brain.) Mr Dunne, you will never understand of what you speak on this matter. You are talking 100% out and out Bullshit, and I am calling you out on it right here. I believe that there will never be a reason for modern society to fear a narrow minded, old pissy, name dropping White man who travels the tubes. Don't bother Mr Dunne, just keep your attache closed , no one will ever stop or challenge you over there, but watch out for those "people" most of whom having been living and contributing to that society for more years than you would know. I am sure they all can't wait to "kill" that very society that they themselves have so much invested in. Sleep light my friend, they are all out to get you.

See, I felt the opposite. I'm one of the people who really likes ScarJo, warts and all...and I was annoyed she was relegated to a non-cover article. I probably wouldn't have cared that much except that Paris Hilton is supposed to be on the cover next month and I'm now even more annoyed that she's made the cover before Scarlett. I'm with you on this one, Moldy. On the other hand, I'd rather see just about anyone, including Domnick Dunne, as the cover article rather than Paris Hilton.

I was pretty disappointed in the Paris Hilton article. Why put her on the cover? (Duh, to sell mags). But she certainly isn't worth a cover article trying to convince me that she's a business tycoon and very savvy.
And I couldnt' find the Jen Aniston issue on newsstands anywhere to save my life (here in Chicago). I don't know if they sold out or what.

Gah! I still haven't gotten my P.Hilton issue in the mail. I am starting to wonder if it hasn't been stolen out of my mailbox. Grr!

I haven't received mine either, but I tend to get the current issue about halfway through the month typically.

Don't forget, VF was the first magazine to do a major article on the Hiltons. She owes them a lot for her current "success". I think they have a lot to answer for - "let's exploit rich kids! It's OK if their families are cool with them lying on the ground topless as long as their mommy is on the set! They're spoiled brats anyway!".

I just refuse to buy it this month. They couldn't have found a more talentless hack if they'd tried. I'm think of writing a letter to the editor of VW protesting her being put on the cover. PH belongs in the back of any magazine that she might be in along with all of the other Porn ads. Disgusting.

OK, my copy finally arrived. I stopped reading the Hilton interview about a page into it because it was boring me. Although, to be fair, that's pretty much my experience with Vanity Fair lately.
