<< Yes, I agree completely! I was disappointed JKR didn't make a bigger deal over Mundungus stealing the stuff, or even really mention him after his encounter with Harry in Hogsmeade. However, I think Harry will go to Mundungus for help in Book 7. Who knows how many other things Mundungus stole from Grimmauld place that may be Horcruxes? And being Mundungus, he of course has connections to people who may know where other artifacts are.
Count me in with the people upset that JKR didn't develop a lot of the characters from OOTP. I know most people don't, but I really like Tonks. Didn't it say in OOTP that she was in Slytherin? Or was that just speculation? I know a lot of people are upset that now that Malfoy and Snape both appear to be in the super eeeeevil camp, "all" the Slytherins are bad, and "all" Gryffindors are good--which just isn't true. If I'm remembering correctly and Tonks WAS in Slytherin, that would be the exception to the "rule." Additionally, though I'm not too sure about Slughorn at this point, I don't think he's bad...if Regulus is RAB, then he ULTIMATELY went good (albeit not for long before he was murdered) and we STILL haven't heard about Nott, the Slytherin loner. As for "bad" Gryffindors, can we assume Wormtail is one?
Harry-as-a-Horcrux is a very fascinating idea, I just don't know how it would work. I would fit in with the theory that Harry will have to die himself to defeat Voldemort...you know, "neither can live while the other survives."
And as I mentioned in the now-closed HP spoiler thread, did anyone else notice all the spider references?>>

]I did like this book, but I thought OotP was better. I just didn't feel the characters/plot was fleshed out enough, especially the Harry/Ginny romance, the urgency for finding more out about Voldemort, and also stuff about Snape, especially . Also, I'dve liked to see more everyday Hogwarts stuff, such as classes, teacher-student interaction, Harry's parents. It hardly felt like they were in school at all, just a long extended vacation that happened to be at Hogwarts. One thing I liked so much about book5 was meeting all the new, interesting characters, especially the DA members. I feel like Rowling tried to compress too much into too little. If it had been longer, I think she would have included more. I did think it had a good ending that was realistic for the way the series is heading. Now I can't wait for #7. I was surprised about Dumbledore, as well as Snape's apparent treachery. I am holding out hope he will be able to redeem himself in book 7 somehow; otherwise it would just be too black and white a character that has been showed to have many interesting shades of gray in OotP.[/color]

I was looking for clues while I hurriedly read this, but I think Dumbledore isn't really dead. He and Snape cooked something up. Remember how Dumbledore told Malfoy the order could make him and his mother look dead and hide from Valdemort. Also another clue was Slughorn saying something about Harry's mother getting people to do anything or some such. I think she did one of them there Unbreakable Vows with Snape, so he would take care of Harry.

Here is another thought about Dumbledore <<Dumbledore's patronus is a pheonix. And he has Fawkes. And his body (if it was his body) was burned. So wouldn't these symbolize something about him? A clue that he is not gone. Maybe he won't be corporeal when he returns but he will come back in some form. I also wonder if DD didn't use a horcrux. Maybe that would explain why he was having a difficult time healing? Of course the horcrux is dark magic so...>>

Well, in theory Dumbledore will be showing up in one of the paintings in the headmaster's office at Hogwart's... though who knows if we'll see that since the trio has pretty much dropped out of school.
Also, Lupin and Tonks? Ew. HBP was sort of bombastically shippy, wasn't it? At times it sort of felt like a Shakespearean comedy where everyone has to pair up regardless of of coherency or character tendencies.

This is a theory I found on another board...
Interesting - this one's plausible too...

spoilers.
I actually didn't like Harry getting with Ginny or their little conversation at the end. They are just teenagers for pete's sake and it seemed a bit too old for them to talk like that.
Also, anyone else notice that snape saved Harry's life at the end when a death eater kept trying to kill him or put an unforgiveable on him? Also Harry kept trying to jinx him and he just blocked it and didn't really fight back. He also said that Harry needed to close his mind. I don't think it a coincedence that dumbledore trusted snape all that much, was casual with the death eaters in the face of death, then had the begging part when Snape came along. I think he knew what snape was planning on doing, but the others didn't know. I think that snape was never going to get in deep with the death eaters unless he proved himself.
Dumbledore had to die. In order for Harry to progress, he needed to not have a safety net.
Just my thoughts now. In a few months, I may read the book again and try to get deeper into the story. Right now, I just wanted to know what happened.

I never wanted Harry to end up withGinny either. It is so cliched having him with his best friend's younger sister. Too cliched. I either wanted Harry with someone new or maybe no one at all.

Harry and Ginny sort of feels creepy like James/Lily 2. Although I was mostly unannoyed at Ginny, she was walking a fine line of Mary Sue-ness through a lot of the book. Popular, guy want her, witty, skilled at hexes, awesome at Quidditch, unscathed at the final battle, and completely calm and collected when she was dumped at the end.
