Surely there are other FT HP refugees here?
So the covers for HBP are out. As an American, I'll be getting the Scholastic one, and I must say, I rather like it. All green and mysterious.
I hope this thread catches on. While I read many different and varied threads on FT, this one was my favorite, and the only one I never neglected. Very smart and literate people discussing the series I am obsessed with. And yet still be silly and pervy at the same time. I was so hoping to discuss the new book with all of you!

Those covers look wonderful! I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait...
I wonder if there will be a special edition available like there was for OOtP?

Well, I don't know about Special Edition but how about (LINK) Deluxe Edition? July 16th cannot come fast enough! ::waves to fellow soon-to-be-exFTers::

There was a Special Edition for OOtP?
I know there are hardcover clothbound versions (retailing at about $90 apiece) of each of the books, but are those the Special Editions?
If not, I am intrigued.

The special edition had its own case and the bookjacket had no print on it, so that you could unfold it and admire the cover art freely. It was pretty neat. ;o)

Where i work we sell the books, and at the release of the last one, we dressed up.. well, * I* dressed up (everyone else was far too boring, they stuck with HP Tshirts) in a wizardy theme.
But this time i'm going to Australia for awhile and won't be able to. Nor will i be able to read it before the release date! *sob*
I'm looking forward to the next one, although i don't LOVE them.

For those of you who've seen the cover of HBP, are Harry & Dumbledore hovering over a pensieve? I loved the pensieve!
I hope we find out more about Snape's past. It made me love him a little bit more, seeing that he was so mistreated by James Potter, et al, when they were in school. Awww, poor Snape!
