I have to admit that I like fan fiction, so my bar isn't horribly high. I also "see" the story as a movie in my head while I read, so as long as I don't get jarred by too many implausible scenes or horrible grammar, I'm good. My opinion on HP & the Cursed Child is that it is an okay rough draft and will probably make an okay play, but whoever is tasked with turning this into a movie is going to have a lot of work ahead of him/her.

Anyone else finished reading HP & the Cursed Child yet? I've got quite a few thoughts and none of them good. Top of mind is I can't believe JKR let this shit get published officially as tied to the Potter franchise. I know how to read a script so that's not my issue but rather that the plot is an absolute mess and makes no sense within the Wizarding World the books created. It's like someone watched the movies and threw together something they thought sounded like a HP story. Just finished reading it and I agree, it was TERRIBLE. I've read a lot of fanfiction and this rates among the worst of it. It's a damn shame Jo affixed her name to is, thus making it canon, because it's absolute garbage. I wish I had never bought the book.
