Just wanted to comment on this:
Well, he saved Harry's life because he made that irrevocable promise with Dumbeldore that he would protect Harry so it's not like he had a choice. It was either save Harry or die so I can't actually give him much credit for that.
As for Harry and Hermione v. Ron and Hermione, I never felt that character belonged with either of them. I felt she deserved someone more on her level. Hermione's magical skills never got the credit I felt they deserved. She was up there with Dumbledore in terms of skill and she had a much stronger moral center than either Harry or Ron did. But if I had to choose, I would have chosen Harry over Ron but that's because book Ron at least was kind of an ass. He's really insensitive to other people's feelings, always saying mean things and then acting confused or irritated when people call him on it.

I would've let her go off with Viktor Krum...
Radcliff and Watson had great chemistry in the movies but I never got Harry/Hermione chemistry in the books.

J.K. Rowling published a new Harry Potter story on Pottermore. It's short but sweet and witty.

So the new Harry Potter play is in previews now and the whole story has of course been leaked online. You can read a summary here if you are curious. It sounds like a lot of stuff going on. I had to reread it a couple of times just to understand it. I haven't seen any actual reviews of the play yet. I am curious to how this would look on stage. Its seems better suited as a book than a play just by the description.

"Harry Potter and that Fantastic Bastard Eddie Redmayne." Isn't that the title newest one? I saw trailers at my $3 beer and pizza second run movie theater. Looks...okay. You guys have totally put me off Redmayne, though.

You can read a summary here if you are curious What in the world was that? The summary legit reads like fanfic. Yes, someone had posted a link to the summary of it at another forum, and most of the posters agreed that it read like fanfic. In fact, it's being compared to the infamous fanfic, "My Immortal" over there. On one hand this new play, it sounds like it would be fun to watch, and more interesting to me than a lot of the last book. (Sorry I got really tired of the repetitive camping out scenes.) Spoiler: {Spoiler}On the other hand, I don't remember time turners being able to be used that way. I thought that basically what already happened, happened, otherwise they'd be too dangerous.
Further, while it might be cliche, I'm glad that one of the next generation ended up in Slytherin because I don't think that it was explored enough in the series that not all Slytherins are bad. However, I hate the cliche of Delphie. A lovechild of Voldemort and Bellatrix is just some really bad fanfic.

I've seen it. The summary is sort of true in the sense they haven't actually invented anything, but written in the most OTT ludicrous way possible. You could do the same for any of the books, really.
The plays are amazing, really, and I'm not a massive HP fan.

You can read a summary here if you are curious What in the world was that? The summary legit reads like fanfic. And not even good fanfic. Anyone else finished reading HP & the Cursed Child yet? I've got quite a few thoughts and none of them good. Top of mind is I can't believe JKR let this shit get published officially as tied to the Potter franchise. I know how to read a script so that's not my issue but rather that the plot is an absolute mess and makes no sense within the Wizarding World the books created. It's like someone watched the movies and threw together something they thought sounded like a HP story. I guess it'll save me money as now I've got no desire to see the plays or I'm sure subsequent movie adaptation.
