Does anyone find the littel blurb up top to be very witty or funny? It's always something entertainment related, followed by pot more plants or something. Today its:
Are these inside jokes?

The blurbs on top are a play on "Fametracker: The Farmer's Almanac of Celebrity Worth," like how the real Farmer's Almanac tells you when to plant stuff and take care of the garden and crops and all that jazz. I never really got why that was funny.

I think with the headings up top, sometimes there is a connection, but it's not consistent. The only one I can remember off-hand was the one a couple years ago when the singer Aaliyah died. The heading went something like "Singer Aaliyah dies in plane crash; harvest sweet peas."
I recall that one because it was uncharacteristically nice. But yeah, before I realized there's not always a connection between the two statements I would wrack my brain trying to find a joke that didn't exist.
Oh, another one I vaguely remember was something about one of the boy bands where maybe one of them left and was replaced or maybe it was that they changed management. Anyhow, the gardening tip after that was "Reorganize tools," which I actually thought was pretty funny.

I saw that Tom Hanks v. Shower Pouf article, and frankly, who was fucking stoned when that idea was decided upon? Usually, I am amused by even the weak articles on FT, but I didn't even crack a smile. That is idiotic.
Of course, who wrote it?

Beavis and Butthead were doing that ten years ago. "Jon Bon Jovi Vs. A Blade of Grass." Hardly new.

The forums were the best things about FT by a frickin' mile! I never really bothered with the other stuff. It usually struck me as trying too hard.
I also found the FT mods to be rude. It was almost impossible to ask them a question without getting a curt, "Don't you know that already? Didn't you read the site?"-type reply. I like this place much better!

*gasp* That article is so embarrassing (for the writer). I mean, how cruel to torture all those sentences, only to end with a ::thud::
When Wing Chun's book gets published and she becomes a "celebrity" (under FT definitions), maybe they can have her battle it out against maxipads with wings.

Maxipads with wings will win. The dryweave actually pulls moisture away from the body.
I really need to watch Reality Bites soon. That's the second time I've quoted it in the last 5 minutes.

What is TWOP? It was referred to on the "goodbye" thread at FT and I've seen it mentioned here as well.
