Oh, the squeeing! It was almost as bad as the HoYay! If FT taught me anything, it was that squealing heterosexual women who think two men are Gettin' Gay for Gals are equally as annoying as heterosexual men who think that lesbians muff-dive for men's pleasure. I have to agree, Ripley. Well said. Many times I'd be reading a topic, wanting to say, "You know, it IS actually possible for two men to have a friendship and show caring for one another without there being any underlying sexual tones." Many threads I simply stopped reading because it got to the point of being ridiculous.

Of course you can, scotlandpa.
Two quotes from me as sigs? I'm blushing here.

Hee. I just realized that one of my sigs is yours too. Thanks! ETA: Booo! I had to choose which one of your sigs to use because the character length was too long, so I went with the new one.

I just went on Fametracker and realize it's been a year since my last visit.
Yeah. I didn't miss anything good.

Oh Lord Kumbaya , I just remembered another thing about FT that I forgot about! Remember how, whenever a post would come up talking about someone's heritage/lineage there would be all these posts about the Ottoman Empire and who started what war with what King and bullshit like that? Let's not forget accents - which person had what accent from what region? And the reason why that accent is even around is b/c some King had a hangnail and needed more servants. Which somehow took us back (again) to the Ottoman Empire. Why was that allowed?

Wow! I'm so relieved to hear that others are/were bewildered by the "Ho-Yay!" obsession at FT. I used to read those posts and wonder why, as a straight woman, thinking of two gay men together did not sexually arouse me, and why I didn't have the need to fantisize that two straight guys in a movie have homosexual undercurrents to their relationship. I used to wonder what, exactly, I was missing about this? It was very, very strange to me.

My first exposure to the whole "Domlijah" psychosis was via FT. That was some frightening stuff. Who are the Domlijah people obsessing over now?
