"LOOK! Guy X looked at Guy Y! They so wanna fuck! *squee*" Those two sentences nicely sum up 80% of theFT/TWOP forums. It's been 3 months since the last Celeb vs. Thing, you think they finally took a hint?

I was also more of a Hissyfit fan than a Fametracker fan, but I think that’s partly because Wing Chun had become even more harsh as a moderator by the time Fametracker was launched. In the early days, she used to post at Hissyfit a lot; I remember one thread she started about how cute she felt in a new outfit she’d bought; I think the thread was about your favorite outfit or something. Once Mighty Big TV was launched, she basically just posted verbal bitchslaps.
One of the things that turned me off Fametracker quickly was when, shortly after Fametracker was launched, they had their first server meltdown and everyone had to re-register. People posted about it because they were genuinely upset that they’d lost their “status” in terms of how long they’d been members and Wing berated them all for caring about something so stupid (I remember one of her friends, Doppelganger, posting how “refreshing” she found it to have a new start.). I was like, bitch, please. The only reason people cared about their poster status was because YOU made such a big deal about banning new posters that in any way irritated you, saying that they had not lurked long enough before posting. And way to reward the loyalty of posters there to support your new venture.
Given her hostility, I always thought Wing should have just set up a password-protected message board for her friends; of course, then other people couldn’t appreciate their wit and wisdom. And God knows her friends were like rabid pit bulls. I remember when one of her friends (Owen?) from Mediarama posted a hissyfit about Band-Aids and some innocent new poster observed that it really wasn’t funny. Sars kicked off with the inevitable, “oh, well, sorry you don’t like this FREE content,” and it was downhill from there. And when another banned poster created an anti-Hissyfit board, Gwen and Cate(?) spent at least a day and a half just attacking the site owner through the forums. I admired their loyalty, but talk about a disproportionate response.

I liked the challenge of having something to work towards here. ;D I remember the big meltdown, too. That's probably why, for the life of me, I can't remember what my username was there. I think I had several--one before the meltdown, and a few after, when I started forgetting them. Oops.

And people wondered why we complained about the cliquiness of the place?!

That was why I was always too intimidated to post there. All the in-jokes and such - I never figured out what the "Flames on the side of my face" thing was all about.
Most of the posters were so whipsmart & funny, especially Ukulele King. He was hilarious.

It's from Clue. Madeline Kahn has a speech that she ad-libs where she starts talking about someone and says, "I hated her sooo much, it, it the, it, flame, flames, FLAMES on the side of my face, breathing, breathle...heaving breaths, heaving...." Her delivery is priceless.

The banner on Fametracker says "On hiatus until further notice. Thanks for reading!" Is FT finally dead?

Probably, considering that there's about to be a mutiny at TWOP. LOL! Couldn't happen to a nicer group of people.
