I agree with the poster who said he looks like a frat boy, which is exactly the type of guy I usually can't stand, but I love him. Wtf is up with that?
I think I said this on The Other Site, but he looks like the kind of guy I would see in a bar and decide was adorable, despite his fratboyishness and the fact that my friends would insist he wasn't cute. My friends and I tend to disagree on these things.
He just seems like he's (reasonably) nice, normal, intelligent and not a famewhore. And I think he and his girlfriend are cute together.

Nothing's for sure until the people in question confirm it verbally, or you find out after the fact (aka they get married quietly, and it's leaked somehow). According to Tab Fab at E-online, "According to a report in Us, Damon and girlfriend Luciana Barroso are engaged and may wed as soon as this summer." And, according to The New York Post Gossip secion, "THAT Matt Damon has bought a house in the Miami area where he will live with his girlfriend of the past year, single mother Luciana "Lucy" Barroso. The couple was spotted shopping for furniture last weekend at the Design Center of the Americas in nearby Dania Beach." If they aren't getting married, they're (at least) setting up house together.

I read that he's bought Lucy a $10.5 million dollar house. Is he insane?

He's all over Boston these days. I saw him a few weeks ago filming The Departed downtown (and Lucy on set, too - fyi).
And then this Saturday, which was gaspingly hot in Boston, Mr. JeanBean decided to go for an early morning bike ride along the Charles. Not surprisingly, there were few other people braving the heat. He's biking along, and he sees this amazingly buff guy in little running shorts. Mr JeanBean is impressed by this guy's seriously jacked physique, and suddenly he notices this little non-descript guy running alongside the buff guy. It's Matt Damon!
I guess MD's not egotisical enough to worry about being compared unfavorably with his trainer. Or maybe it's a relief to be outside and have people staring at someone else. In any event, if you're a Matt fan, try a weekend morning jog along the Charles.

How long does everyone here think marriage between Lucy and Matt would last? I did hear that they might be engaged.
I remember how everyone was snarking about Lucy, saying how all she needed to do was get preggers and she would be on easy street for the next eighteen years, if not for life. Now it sounds like she's going to hit a bigger jackpot by marrying him. Does anyone know if the father of her daughter is in anyway involved in her (Lucy's) life?
Either way Matt better be careful. If Lucy ends up taking him for all he's worth, then he gets what he deserves. She doesn't seem to have any job or interests other than being his lapdog. I mean, she doesn't work at the bar anymore, she's not designing the interior of any homes at all. Now before I get flamed for being "classist" or whatever, I just find it a little disconcerting that she doesn't function seemingly as anything else other than "Matt Damon's Fiancee". She really won't have much say in the way they live since he has all the funds under his control, she really can't piss him off too much or he'll simply toss her aside; or at least that option will always be present in the back of her mind.
If a richer girl comes along and catches his eye, or a girl with slightly more to offer (has an actual substantial career) if Matt takes interest in her Lucy will have to pray to God that Matt doesn't leave her.

Relationships work in funny ways. I thought that Billy Crudup and Mary Louise Parker had things figured out and would be together forever. Oops. Who knows what sort of dynamics are at work behind the scenes in Matt and Luciana's relationship. I hope that they are happy and are both in a relationship that works for them.
Moving on... I saw a preview for The Brothers Grimm the other day and it looks awesome. I am a sucker for Terry Gilliam but Matt's British(esque) accent seemed spot-on and it was nice to see him portraying a more playful, charming, and witty character as opposed to the more serious types he has been playing almost non-stop these days. I hope the film lives up to the preview.

Was Matt at dear Ben's wedding? I'd be sad if he wasn't there, for some odd reason.

According to E! News, the only guests were Victor Garber and Victor's friend. No Matt. Not even Casey Affleck.
