Hollywood detail in Contra Costa County Superior Court, where McMillan has filed for divorce from her Jamaican- born husband of six years, Jonathan Plummer.

McMillan, 53, said in court documents that the marriage was based on a "fraud'' because Plummer lied about his sexual orientation -- and married her only to gain U.S. citizenship.

Hersh (Millans Lawyer) also disputes Plummer's contention that McMillan was seeking an annulment as a way to get him deported, as he alleges. In pressing her claim of fraud, however, McMillan told the court that Plummer waited to tell her he was gay until he knew his application for citizenship was going to be approved.

Plummer says he understands that McMillan felt betrayed by his coming out. "But I was being truthful to myself, and didn't want to hurt her anymore,'' he said.

On June 17, a Superior Court judge handed Plummer a minor victory -- ordering McMillan to pay him $2,000 a month in spousal support, plus $25,000 in attorney's fees -- until a full trial on the validity of the prenuptial agreement and the annulment request is heard in October.

The book she writes when her divorce is over will be one hell of a juicy read!!! I liked Disappearing Acts and Stella, the others were meh. Terry's sister is an author too but I haven't read any of her books.

OH MY GOD. They mentioned in Page Six that she was getting divorced, but they didn't say that he was gay. Sorry if I'm mean, but this is too. funny. Terry always seemed pretty smug to me, with her super "hot" Jamaican man. She must feel so stupid right now.

I'll never watch that movie in the same way again.

My friends and I used to call the movie 'When Hootie Got His Tootie On' and now that Hootie is gay it def won't be the same. Poor Tootie! How could a woman, especially a writer (writers as a group are supposed to be more perceptive than the average Joe, right?) how could she not know her man was gay? That's creepy. Creepy that he waited for 6 years. Creepy that he took advantage of her. Creepy that he was in her bed, waiting for the moment when he could take advantage of everything she gave him. Damn, I hope he gets no alimony. In practical terms, I just emailed my divorced mother to be careful of the 34 yo creep wooing her and talking of marriage.

When I first saw him, I thought he was gay and that was just from a photograph, so I'm not sure that I buy her not knowing all this time. Aside from that, he was way too young for her to be marrying in the first place. I don't have a problem with older women/younger men; I find that the older I get the younger the men seem to be who hit on me, including high school students. "Baby, I'm old enough to be your mother!" is what I usually say. The young men get pissed -- a couple stopped coming to visit after I said that -- but, hey, at least I don't play myself, you know? Of course, older men hit on me too but I'm just saying...

Anyhow, I figure if he's more than 15 years younger, you probably better pass. Women shouldn't marry men who are young enough to be their sons.

Though if I were him, I'd be careful -- at 53, Terry's probably in the throes of menopause, and most days she's probably murderous.

The Smoking Gun's got all the juicy details. I can't believe he had the unmitigated gall to claim that he tried to tell her last summer! Yikes!

I feel badly for her. She must feel like such a fool. Has she written anything recently? From the look of the Smoking Gun papers, she is dealing with some serious anger issues.

She really annoys me, she's very smug, although I loved her books. In most of her books she portrays Black men as cheaters, lazy, druggie, and in need of a Black woman to get them on track. Now I guess her Black male characters will be cheaters, lazy, druggies AND gay. I guess the Black woman will have no one to get back on track.

Serves her self-righteous, smug ass right.

In all honesty, someone help me here, but did she really think that a good looking man, 23 years her junior, could actually be that much in love with her that he was willing to build a life with her? That in itself goes to show that she thinks more of herself that what she really is. I'm at the age where I'm considered an "older woman" (mid-thirties) and if a twenty year old cracked on me I would suspect he had an ulterior motive. Even if he didn't. I couldn't even imagine what I would have in common with a twenty year old besides fucking. And believe me, fucking's MUCH better in the mid-thirties. (Yes it does get better as you get older; then it goes downhill)

Even though he's gay, he must have whipped something mighty good on her ass for her to think it was enough to marry.
