I think she is the best at what she does. She is so likable and good in even her shittiest of movies imo. I've never heard anything but wonderful things about her from personal encounters, to crew stories etc. She bagged Ryan Gosling too. I remember when Jay Leno had only Army guys in the audience ( I think it was the Army) and they got to vote on which celebrity they wanted to see and she won! She was really cute with them. I liked her in her early stuff. That one film with River Phoenix and Samantha Mathis, A Time To Kill, Love Potion No.9, etc. I've heard good things about the next movie she has coming out with Bradley Cooper.

Back in the 1990s, I used to detest Sandra Bullock. She and Julia Roberts were on my shit list. However, Sandra managed to move off of it due to HOPE FLOATS. That is such a good and underrated film, and it was the first time that I saw Sandra branch out and have a 'quiet' performance. I have been a fan for around 10 years now, and I think that THE PROPOSAL looks good. ALL ABOUT STEVE looks like it may be horrible but still cute. Sandra definitely brings likeability to her roles.

I really like Hope Floats. I agree that it is underrated and Sandy gives a really good quiet performance. In fact, I think it is my favorite "quiet" performance from her.

I adore Sandy. She's just charming and down to earth in all her movies. While You Were Sleeping remains a comfort film to me that I can watch over and over again and it always gets me weepy at the end. Her and Ryan Reynolds "behind the scenes" look at The Proposal just kills me: Sandy, Ryan and Betty White"America's Sweetheart is gonna fuck you up."

I think she's done quite a bit of heavy stuff: Premonition, Infamous (she played Harper Lee), Loverboy, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, Murder By Numbers. I think her lighter perfomances just stand out more.
Looking through IMDB, I didn't know she played Tess McGill in the TV version of Working Girl. Too bad I never watched it.
I think Jennifer Aniston could learn a lot from Sandy, such as how to stay low key and not be desperate for a man so that you not only have a successful career but, also, find a great guy that you weren't really looking for.

I like Sandra (and I LOVED Two Weeks' Notice), but I don't buy that Sandra is happy-go-lucky with her career. I've read too many interviews where she's only going to do films she is PASSIONATE about. Was she really passionate about Miss Congeniality Two? Even for press for this new film, she talks about how she wasn't really wanting to do another romcom but just had to do this one because the character is such a bitch--as if a bitchy hotshot careerist is something new in film.
I would love to see Sandra and Jennifer Aniston work together, in a Beaches-type of film.

So glad I am not alone in my love for Hope Floats. Even though the romance genre is not my thing, I really love this film if only for the relationships between all the characters. The casting was perfect IMO. And I can never look at creamed corn without thinking of this film.

That Behind the Scene thing with Betty White is hilarious. Good stuff. I'd actually like to see that, although the premise seems paper-thin.

She looks fantastic in that behind-the-scenes with Ryan and Betty White. On the whole "Botox or good DNA?" question, while I don't doubt that she could have had some subtle work done, I do think DNA plays a big part with Sandy. And it's because she has young hands. Hands are usually a good indicator of true age. Ladies in Hollywood get their faces worked on, but their hands give them away. Sandy really doesn't have "old lady" hands so while she may have gotten some help from the dermatologist or plastic surgeon, I think she's probably aging pretty well on her own.
