I just had to add that The Wicked Heart scared the SHIT out of me. I read it when I was 11, I think, and for some reason the premise just terrified me, even though I was okay with the Chain Letter series and The Last Vampire and the Friends Forever series. For about 4 months, I would check my closet to make sure there wasn't a serial killer with a hammer in there before I went to bed!

Which one was The Midnight Club? I've read so many of his books that they sometimes blur together in one scary-sexy supernatural blur. I still credit Christopher Pike with teaching me the fine art of foreshadowing. Scary-sexy foreshadowing. Hmmm....can you spell out the foreshadowning for me? Sometimes Aims rides the short bus to school....

Bumping this from years ago, because I just stumbled across this on youtube and went into shock. There is a Fall Into Darkness tv movie! It looks terrible! I'm extremely excited about this. It has Jonathan Brandis!

Heh, I remember that movie! I'm surprised that there weren't more movies made out of Pike's books when Teen Slasher movies were big in the '90s. I remember reading once that he was writing a screenplay for Chain Letter, and my 11-year-old self was dying of excitement, but nothing ever came of it, I guess. Ah well.
I myself am voting for a Final Friends mini-series. Michael was dreeeaamy.

I always wanted movies made out of these books. I'm pretty sure I had Final Friends cast in my head as a kid. All I can remember now is Christian Slater as Bubba, but I'm pretty sure I had people for all of them.
Weekend was the other one I desperately wanted as a movie.

Weekend was the other one I desperately wanted as a movie. I loved Weekend as a 14 year old. It was the first of his books that I read. It would have made a half decent movie if done properly, much better than some "horror" flicks that did get made. However, my favourite was Remember Me, probably because I developed a big crush on Peter (I think that was his name). Hated the sequels however, after I read them I pretended they didn't exist.

Love Pike! I've been reading him for years, ever since I picked up a copy of 'Remember Me' at my local bookstore way back when. The Final Friends series cemented the love. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be Remember Me, followed very closely by Season of Passage, The Last Vampire and Sati. Has anyone here read the short stories he did? What'd you think?
