If you thought the Bella/Edward scenes in Twilight were frustrating, the ones in Eclipse are pure torture. oh crap... you got me worried now.. lol. I promised myself I need to stretch this one out and not complete it in one day.. But your making me tempt to break my own promise! I should just read some Twilight fanfic, I haven't done that since my Buffy days... ahh the memories..

Oh God.......I don't know why it didn't occur to me until now, but I just never thought about the existence of Twilight fanfic. I'm too scared to look.
I love your avatar, btw. Where did you get it?

On fanfiction.net they have fanfic, but some of the fanfic is "All Human," which totally cracks me the heck up.

Thanks ! I hate to admit this but I'm a lurker at ONTD and a poster there had it, and I loved it.. I'm almost positive though it came from the Twilight Icon lj community where they have all the icons that people post, Im sure you can find it there. Now when they say, "All Human" stories... is that like.. just the high school kids in the books? My mind is not creative enough right now to think of what other possibilities that phrase might be about..

Which frankly negates the point of the books, but whatever. Its fanfiction.net, and whenever I'm there I want to borrow Robert Pattinson's bongs.

Yea I think the whole point of Edward's hotness--or at least a BIG part of his hotness--is the vampire thing. I'll head over there though to check out some stories Also, using the name Robert Pattinson and the word "bongs" in one sentence is causing a lot of great images in my head.. oh my bad we're talking about paraphernalia right?

Yeah. I'm just going to come right out and admit that the only reason I give two figs about these books is Robert Pattinson. Which makes me feel a bit dirty, but he's only five years younger.

That's EXACTLY why I even bothered picking these babies up.. I was like, "Oh good Robert's got a movie role, wonder what the book is about.." and then I was hooked.. DAMN YOU MEYER! Oh yea, and also.. I am seriously considering getting a Volvo now. Uggghh, it's now considered a HOT car to me. AND it will be silver. Somehow I don't think my folks will say yes to a yellow Porsche

I really liked the first book, and then I seriously enjoyed the change of tack over to Jacob in the second. But the third... oh god, the third...
I wish she'd stopped. What felt original and refreshing in the first has now gotten claustrophobic. And while I admired Bella's singleminded bite-me-bite-me intent in the first, there really is only so many times that you can get a promise from your boyfriend and have him break it.
And frankly, I guess I didn't buy Edward's reasoning for his actions in the second book. Maybe I'm made of weaker stuff, but I don't buy that a romance is that overwhelming that consistently. And the introduction of Jacob means so much more -- keep your parents, have kids, live in the actual world?
The characters are good, the writing's really very enthralling (I reread "Twilight" a few times, trying to tease out the rhythm), but after the first one I am officially skeptical of Meyers' plotting skills.
