I looked at Chonies link and yeah, the ads are obnoxious. I then installed AdBlock Plus (free) and they've disappeared. I still see Wonkette's own ads asking for subscriptions etc but not the super obnoxious and distasteful ones. This is on my desktop- I think adblock also has downloads for tablets. |

Does anyone else go to "Celebitchy"? I used to like it, but the head writer- Kaiser is just obnoxious, and their newest writers seem like they're 15 years old. Her unbridled hatred of all things Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is what finally turned me off. Plus she only writes about 5 topics.
1. Hatred of all things Cambridge
2. Bangs trauma
3. Forever dongs
4. Feminism.... but she constantly bashes most females- with the exception of Angelina.
5. The Kardashians

I've been reading Lainey Gossip for a while and have liked it well enough but I'm going to have to give it up until after the Oscars due to her irrational hatred of Leonardo DiCaprio. She mentions something about how desperate he is for an Oscar every single day. She actually quoted the Drudge Report that he was raped by a bear in the new movie, then tried to play it off the next day as a joke. It reminds me of Gawker's 500 days of Kristen whoever, she's making a story every day even if one doesn't exist. We get it already, you don't want him to win - just move on.

I am increasingly irritated with Lainey as well. She's becoming obnoxious and her site isn't as fun as it used to be to read. Somewhat OT, but I thought it was kind of hilarious that DiCaprio's people issued a statement saying that he WASN'T raped by a bear. I mean, really? Did we think he was? I believe they did admit to a little "thrusting". Is this what the world is today?

Does anyone else go to "Celebitchy"? I used to like it, but the head writer- Kaiser is just obnoxious, and their newest writers seem like they're 15 years old. The Kardashians I go to Celebitchy and came to this thread specifically to complain about it, in particular Kaiser. The thing is, Kaiser tends to share my interests and my crushes (Skarsgard, Fassbender, Hiddleston) so I want to read her posts, but she's turning CB into a slightly better behaved version of tumblr and she's doing it on purpose. She doesn't quite promote, for example, the Cumberbatch conspiracy theories, but she comes pretty close. And she fangirl-bashes the women associated with them in a sexist way. (I just came from reading about how Alicia Vikander is a a suspiciously calculating and "savvy" starlet.) And the comments section has gotten nutty because she's pretty blatant about wanting the fanatics to congregate at CB instead of tumblr, so I'll read these kind of coded comments...Like I mentioned last week that Fassbender and Vikander haven't broken up yet because they were just seen having dinner together, and one of the tumblr nuts who think it's a fake PR relationship jumped in to imply that it was all fake and staged (there was a photo and they weren't standing next to each other or touching each other in it, etc). It's the same tiresome Cumberbatch nonsense. |

I looked at the analytics for the year, and their stats - page visits per day- have gone down by about 4,000 (from 16K to 12k), so a fairly large number. I found an anti-Kaiser site (because of course there's one!), and it seemed to verify your assessment of her POV. Apparently she'll ban anyone who disagrees with her about her favorite topics. They also think PMK pays her to constantly write about her family. I never noticed that before, but there does seem to be a large percentage of posts dedicated to the family on a weekly basis. I would agree on the looniness of the Cumberbatch posts. I think that's when I noticed something wasn't right about her (and again, I hate the way she bashes Will & Kate over and over on the same topics... we get it! You don't like them. Move on!). She's really embracing her inner troll. |

I'm probably in danger of being banned since most of my comments lately have been critical of the information contained in her posts.
Today she posted something about Oscar Isaac that portrayed him as a love-em-and-leave-em lothario based on something she vaguely remembers Jessica Chastain saying about him one time. I know very little about Oscar Isaac, but 30 seconds of Googling will yield lots of photos of him with his serious live-in girlfriend of 7 or 8 years. A tiny bit of research would be nice.
And on a slightly different note...Celebitchy's headlines: Obnoxiously repetitive or not as lazy as they seem? Swear to God, every single headline is a fucking question, even when it makes no sense.

I wrote something but it didn't take. Now I can't remember what I wrote.  I think most internet headlines are misleading-, not just CB's- and their aim is clickbait- but she does seem to make every headline a question. And I agree- it's so boring. Ginger- I think you're moderated before being banned. I'm calling tomorrow's headlines: Lupita, Benedict/Sophie, Kim/Kayne, Will/Kate (multiple posts). She only seems to read the Daily Fail, and I think that's part of the problem. |
