The Gossip Sites : From DListed to Perez

I like Lainey, who I discovered through a link here. I don't know how good or accurate she is as a gossip columnist; I read her site mostly because I like her observations about Hollywood, fame, and human nature in general, and I'd want to be her friend if I knew her offline.

Perez is getting his own clothing line.

"2008 is all about expanding the Perez Brand," the blogger explained. "I talk about clothes all the time on my website. I have a good eye for what's hot and what's not."

Does the world really need more patterned hoodies? I imagine his designs will be real groundbreaking stuff: all pink and black skulls, same as everything else at Hot Topic.

I also like Pink Is the New Blog. He seems like a genuinely nice guy and has an actual life outside of the blog. I even read his life updates about his boyfriend and friends, plus the celebs he writes about also seem to like him. He's like the alt-dude in high school that everyone was friends with, whereas Perez is the insecure bully who terrorized everyone.

WWTDD.com is my only other weekly check. It's not breaking news, but the text for the accompanying stories always makes me crack up. Most other gossip blogs seem too crowded and overloaded with too many updates and large photos.

Please - Oxy's House of Shoes? That srsly needs to read Brookie's House of Amazing Footwear. Oxy ain't got nuttin' on Brookie when it comes to the subject or the quantity of shoes.

It looks to me like he's just attempting to knock off House of Holland without the irreverent humor. It does shriek Hot Topic.

Perez Hilton proceeded to call Will.i.am a fa**ot and then got punched in the face by his manager. And then the asshole decided he needed to "Tweet" about this horrible injustice and begged people to call the police on his behalf. Which he had already done anyway.

I'm going to wait to see how this all plays out—but I have a tendency to want to believe Will.i.am's assertion that he went up to Perez with "respect" and asked him to stop writing shit about his band—and Fergie—on his site and Perez just went off like the asshole he truly is. He hates Fergie (for some unknown reason) and I don't understand his need to stalk the woman online and in person.

I have no sympathy for "Perez" and I have no problem admitting I laughed out loud at the pained poopy face he's making in the above link.
