Here's a gem about Cameron Diaz: She's taken that particular dogface/hermaphrodite item down, but let's just say she has an extensive amount of scrubbing to do on her site. Perhaps taking down her whole pre-woke archive (pre-2015 or thereabouts?).

Lainey has been radiating an unbearable level of smugness for years and acts like she's some sort of hard-hitting journalist and social justice warrior. Her self-important apology ended with "And the work continues" which has become her new favorite expression lately. Somebody please remind her she's a gossip columnist.

I wouldn't want to read some of the stuff I wrote/said back in 2005, and I probably wasn't too compassionate towards, for example, Tara Reid back in the day, but I never utilized nicknames like "Ghetto Tits" and I don't think I needed to use expressions like "nasty skank" nearly as much as Lainey did in one single item.

I thought Lainey went extra hard after Jessica and Ben Mulroney ("we were never friends") because she was hoping to oust him from their show, and she was successful. I would be happy for her smug ass to get fired too.

And to end this post, remember that Lainey has never apologized, retracted, or even taken down the untrue blind item about Gretchen Mol and Harvey Weinstein that Gretchen says wrecked her career and made her an object of shame and ridicule for the better part of decade. All Lainey has said is she never confirmed who the blind item was about.

Oh the downfall of Lainey is delicious!

She's always been really smug, but she's been cited by actual academics and journalists of celebrity culture like Anne Helen Petersen and Kaity Weaver, and it's definitely gone to her head. The turnaround in attitude on her site, her "wokeness," happened around the time of the "me too" movement. I think she realized that she had to shift the tone, or she wouldn't survive. The ONTD thread reminded me of many more ugly things she said over the years, the Cameron Diaz stuff, calling Jessica Biel "shelf ass," mocking Britney Spears, calling Nicole Kidman "Granny Freeze," Tom Cruise "Gay Midget dwarf" and loads of other stuff. She delighted in hinting that certain actresses had traded sexual favors with Harvey and then mocked and ridiculed them for it, famously Gretchen Mol, but also Renee Zellweger, Blake Lively, and Gwyneth (whom she's always adored). She gleefully slut shamed women for years. There's tons of examples in that ONTD thread and people are posting screenshots on Twitter too.

Her long post about the Mulroneys was completely calculated. She wanted to distance herself as much as possible from them, even though she herself has benefited from that relationship. How else would she have gotten the info for this blind item? She constantly brings up working with Ben on her site. And her connection to them has given her legitimacy with Meghan's crazy "Sussex Squad" who take her and Omid Scobie's info as gospel of what is really going on with H&M. Now that Jessica Mulroney is allegedly on the outs with Meghan I expect both Omid and Lainey will have to find other ways into "House Sussex."

I've never liked Lainey. Never understood her appeal. She's always been smug.

The first big headline on Lainey today is "Terry Crews is trash."

Good one. The site proprietor just narrowly escaped cancellation, and is now sending out a cancellation on another celebrity, and a black one, no less.

I'm so weary of cancel culture. I don't agree with Terry Crews but I'm sick of social media blaring out these headlines declaring people to be TRASH just because they have an opinion that deviates from very rigid approved views.

I also don't agree with JK Rowling on her trans viewpoints and am a little unclear on why she has taken up the issue, but I read her essay, and I agree with her that it's ridiculous that people came after her with pitchforks just because she liked 2 tweets. Why can't any of these blogs address her points factually instead of just slapping a headline on her that she's transphobic and filled with hatred?

Imagine being such an unhappy, bitter grouch that you would write this about someone supporting a child development program.

I remember hearing a few months ago that the Duchess of Cambridge was keen for the lockdown to be over because she really wanted to refocus on her Early Years initiative. It was funny because she dropped Early Years like a hot potato as soon as she had an excuse to lounge around and do a few Zoom calls a week.

Anyway, now that lockdowns are being lifted around the UK, Kate actually *did* do something around early childhood development. She’s endorsing the BBC’s Tiny Happy People platform, which offers resources, advice and support to parents of kids under the age of 4.

shrug* It actually sounds like a good thing and a good platform and like it will actually help parents of young children. Which is how you know that Kate had very little to do with it! She would never spearhead something so substantive and helpful.

There is this site called "Trustpilot" that I just heard about yesterday, where you can rate and write a review of Celebitchy. Celebitchy currently has 94% negative reviews. And what's nice is that they will helpfully cc your review and forward it on to Celebitchy by email. It was nice to let Kaiser know how I feel about her.

But there have been websites and blogs around for years about how awful Celebitchy and specifically Kaiser are and the site owners have never done anything to change course. I think they must have moved on to other things and just decided to leave Kaiser alone to run the site into the ground.

The site must generate money, which is another reason I need to stop clicking. But I have noticed a steady drop in the number of comments. It's like watching a train wreck.

I used to hate read Celebitchy too. For a long while. It was like watching a train wreck, and it wasn't as if it was a funny read. As you mentioned, it's negativity.

I wish I knew what stopped me from visiting that site. It might have been cold turkey.

I never liked Lainey. When I first went to her site and she called her mum the squawking chicken. I didn't think it was funny then and I don't now. I looked and saw that she wrote and actual memoir called Listen to the Squawking Chicken. Whatever Lainey.

I read Lainey every day despite her pathological need to insert her life in every story she writes. No one cares that much about your beagles Lainey.

But she reads like Hemingway compared to the two newest writers she has, Cody and Melanya. They are terrible writers ! Plodding and boring. I like Prem tho. He's fun to read. The site really needs Kathleen back.
