@lizzibeth I’m glad you didn’t go for Gertrude, but if you went for Greta or Grace those actually are 2 of my favourite names. I imagine every Greta with soulful brown eyes and every Grace to be, well, graceful. prisma I actually do like it for a cat or dog. But then there are lots of names that I think are bad on humans that are very sweet on pets. Grace was on the short list too, but we went with Genevieve we wanted something dainty but substantial. One where she could be a Supreme Court Justice or a romance novelist

lizziebeth730 I adore Genevieve, how did you think it was in the same level of Beatrice or Gertrude? It’s the name of a slim vivacious Parisian who lives in London. Oh wait I just realised that of the various mental images I have of names, this one might have been somewhat influenced by Genevieve Bujold. Which is no bad thing as she’s awesome.

Oh, I love the name Genevieve! I have a couple of friends with that name, it's lovely. One of my friends is Quebecoise and uses the French pronunciation, but it's a beautiful name whether you use the English or French versions.
Nowadays, I associate Beatrice with Trixie from Call the Midwife (I think that character actually has the Beatrix variant). I like that character, so the name has a positive connotation, which I realize is kind of silly, but whatever.

It just occurred to me for the first time EVER that Trixie comes from Beatrix.

She could have the nickname Beezus, like Ramona’s older sister!

It would be nice if her nickname was Gina or something like that.

Well Genevieve is an old timey name and it's not terribly common
My G is not a slim Parisian living in London, but a human tank in 8 year old form... She's just 70lbs of muscle no effs to give

My mom’s cousin was called Trixie, which I thought was funny as a kid because I associated it with Trix cereal. Her full name is Patricia.

My cat is Trixie and has, bless her, roughly the IQ of trix cereal so I have the same association.
