I sold some stuff on eBay recently, including a pile of costume jewellery. I checked it over, listed all the defects, and included some stuff that was brand new and unworn. Today I got feedback for it - a negative. The buyer said it was all junk and 90% was rusty or worn.
What really annoys me (apart from the blatent lie about the state of the stuff) is that she made *no* attempt to contact me to complain. I would have refunded her if I'd known she was that unhappy with it! And, to make it worse, I've already left her positive feedback.
GRRR. I hate some eBayers!

Don't go down without a fight, I'd say. Try complaining and filling out the form for mutual feedback removal and see if she talks. If not, just leave a response on her negative to let the world know just how impatient she is.

Thanks, WelshCorgiGirl. I've already replied to her feedback, and I've emailed her pointing out that I would have refunded if I'd known how unhappy she was. I don't think there's any point going the mutual feedback route as one of the other negs she left was about not receiving an item. The seller had replied to that saying when it was posted and pointing out that she hadn't heard from the girl either!
It just really annoys me that she didn't even contact me to say "hey, I'm really disappointed!".
Fortunately for me, my feedback rating is still 99.6%. But still GRRR!

All of this supports my point that you shouldn't leave positive feedback (or any feedback) until the deal is complete on all accounts (meaning you need to confirm that the item was received and the buyer is happy via e-mail first). I've been burned so many times!

Oh and this was the message the lady sent me: "Good thing your good with needle and thread. And aren't you glad you did not pay 29.99." I've had many an assy buyer - including the guy who is currently scamming me for $315 - but the one I will never, EVER forget is the dude who won a laptop from me, then wrote me to tell me he found a better one and to "cancel his bid, thanks!" Well, I would except the auction is OVER, you ass! When I informed him that I will be filing an NPB to recover my listing/FVF fees, he got pissed off, saying, and I quote: Silly me. Why should I hit him with a non-paying buyer strike just because he's a non-paying buyer?

I understand how annoying it must be to have a buyer who leaves undeserved negative feedback, but on the other hand I also feel that the seller often hold that feedback over you in case you leave them a negative. I'm a buyer and I feel that when I have paid I have done my part and deserve feedback based on my quick payment and nothing else.

I've got an assy buyer as well. He had a bad attitude practically from the minute he won my auction. Questioning my charges, calling me a scam artist, etc. He paid for the item and I mailed it. Now he's pissed because he hasn't received it yet. I told him I would check with the Post Office to see what's up. It's only been a week, folks. Chances are that the package got delayed because of the bad weather, lazy postal workers, what have you.
He wants a refund; I said that I would refund him once I located the item and had it returned to me. No way am I going to give his money back until I know for sure he did not receive the item.

We just had an awesome Ebay experience. We've been setting up our office (yeah, we finally got a desk that fits the room) so we decided to get a printer. We got a brand new HP printer and toner cartridge for about $200 less than if we had gotten it at OfficeMax. I set it up, it works great, and I'm so pleased. It only took a week to ship from California as well.
All in all, very pleased with the transaction.
