Jensational, my Paypal account is still under my maiden name and I've been using it with a credit card in my married name with no problem.

I had a similar problem, Jensational. I had to end up setting up a new email account (I keep my Ebay stuff in a separate email) and cancelling my old Paypal. When I cancelled they asked me if a name change was the reason I cancelled. So they know they're a pain in the ass when your name changes...um, ok.
They wouldn't let me set up my new bank account in my married name either. The last name defaulted to my old name.

For the first time I've bought clothing and shoes off ebay -- some new, some not. I'm eagerly waiting their arrival. I hate mall shopping and have very specific wants and needs (e.g. black loafer-type show with heel under 1 1/2" ) so I'm hoping to save both time and money.

Jensational, I would say that it is probably not fraud and someone just screwed up entering in info. I would also use my maiden name and not worry about it. Actually when I got married, I just started using MrB's acct. and did not even bother opening up my own.

I changed the password to my e-mail just to be safe but it doesn't appear to have caused any problems.
I had used my maiden name account once and just had everything shipped as a gift to married name/new address. It was just sort of a pain in the ass.

I am continuously baffled by this one seller, from whom I've just purchased something from Etsy. This seller has some really cool stuff, and I have made a total of four purchases from both her eBay and Etsy accounts. I had ordered two shirts from her at one time and never had a problem, but about two months before that, I had ordered a custom choker and haven't received it for about a month and some days. She claimed to have sent it the week I had paid, so I got freaked out wondering if it was lost in the mail (I paid 25 bucks for it, so I was understandbly frustrated. After a month passed, I get the package in the mail, with the USPS sticker reading that it was sent WAY later than expected.
This past month, I had ordered another item from her, and a week ago, I was getting fed up. I sent an message through Etsy asking what was wrong, but got no response. This Saturday, I filed a dispute on Paypal, although it wasn't a claim, so I wasn't neccessarily asking for a refund on the spot. By Monday, I noticed that the item has been marked "shipped" on the Etsy account. So, I thought it was over and went on my way. But today, I received an email from Paypal saying that my money was refunded and the dispute had been closed. And to top it off, I get a nice little message saying "The package has been SENT, I would have appreciated if you would have contacted me on Etsy if you haven't received a package." So here I am going "Wuh?"
First of all: 1) I did sent a message through Etsy 2) This person never responded to anything I sent, and never gave me a message saying that my package was in the mail. and 3) What the hell else was I supposed to do? Sit quietly, twiddling my thumbs, hoping for a miracle?
Suffice to say, I am no longer confident with dealing with this seller. Too much drama. However, I have received my money and might still get the package, so pfft to her.

OUCH!I know people should be careful and really read what they're buying, but stuff like this still makes me a little sick. I read over item descriptions a million times though, so I don't have too much pity.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with an actual person at eBay? I got 2 letters from a collection agency saying that I had defaulted on my eBay account and they sent it to collections and if I don't pay up, my credit will be damaged, blah, blah, blah. The thing is I have never had an eBay account! I have bought stuff a few times over the years but have always paid through paypal - I have never once owed money to eBay itself. I called the collection agency, saying it was a fraudulent claim and they said I had to work it out with eBay. I have emailed them a few times and all I get back are random form emails that do not address the problem I am experiencing at all.
Ugh.

eBay Inc. 2145 Hamilton Avenue San Jose, California 95125 And I found a local phone number - (408) 376-7400.
You could try calling and seeing if they can find someone to help you.
