Those Bruce Willis genes are strong in his daughters.

Except for the superhero tights, most men can hide a less than perfect physique under their wardrobe (in acting and in real life). A guy can have a bit of flab or not have a six pack, but still look good in an expensive suit. Women still get put in skintight cocktail dresses. A guy can hide a saggy ass in some stylish swim trunks, but a woman can't hide a thing in most swimsuits. Back to the Golden Girls, maybe they were onto something. Demi is the same age they were then, but even Blanche the sexpot didn't wear skimpy skintight clothes. I bet they were more comfortable! Exactly, men's tailoring can hide a lot, but most women's clothing just isn't created for camouflage. Blanche wore fitted clothing some of the time, but there were a lot of drapy tunics and fluid nightwear. If someone did a Blanche Devereaux sleepwear collection I'd buy it- she wore Miss Dior silk nighties and kimonos/negligees, and they were stunning.

I think the church lady perm lives on because it does effectively mask thinning and baldness. Perhaps upcoming generations will use extensions and wigs instead. Or maybe just do what one of my co-workers did, she got tired of trying to hide thinning hair and a receding hairline and just shaved it all off. She looked so much better and happier.

I started wearing a buzzcut years before my breast cancer diagnosis. I was bald during chemo, but I've been buzzed since then. Never grown out my hair. It's the most freeing I've ever felt. Not for everyone, of course, but I relate to your coworker. I'm glad she feels much better about her hair, or lack thereof. 🙂 About Demi: did Rumer get plastic surgery at some point? She didn't used to look like that.

She's definitely had lip fillers, not sure about anything else.

Demi Moore looked different when she was on General Hospital and when she first started appearing in movies. I believe she had work done quite early in her movie career. So who knows how any of them are supposed to look like and who they really resemble?

IRRC Demi had breast implants early on, and other procedures later.

So, Demi Moore is getting actual Oscar buzz (for the first time in her career, as far as I can remember) for a movie called The Substance, the Best Screenplay winner at the 2024 Cannes FIlm Festival. It's directed by Coralie Fargeat, the woman who helmed a little-seen critically acclaimed gem from 2017 called Revenge (that was my other favorite film of 2017, alongside Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman). Here's the trailer. It looks weird in the best possible ways, and it gives me Death Becomes Her if it was the lovechild of Dario Argento and David Cronenberg vibes... A shiiiiiiiiiit ton of work. I remember it being talked about when the Charlie’s Angels movie came out. I remember tabloid articles detailing all her work, adding up to $200k. And she talked about getting her knees done. Everyone’s knees are weird if you look at them long enough, I realized after staring at hers trying to figure out what the problem was.
