Try a uniform store or a craft store (I know Hobby Lobby has aprons). I have a bunch of those black waitress-type aprons from my college waitressing days (or at least I think I still have them). Want me to overnight one to you? OK, so do you people know how hard it is to find a white polo shirt? Pretty effing hard. Everywhere I looked only had them in XL or XXL, or if they had them in a smaller size, they were like $30. I'm not paying that for a white polo I'll never wear again. A couple stores had them online, but there's no guarantee it would get here on time. Procrastination = awesome.

Shan, did you try Old Navy for the white polo? A men's small shouldn't run more than about $20, I'm thinking...

I have tried all those places, but I didn't think about just getting a men's shirt -- I looked in the women's and juniors' departments. Oddly, many places don't actually have the polos in stock, only on the website. Not sure why that is. I finally found one for like $8 on the JC Penney site and they're going to ship it directly to the store for me. Hopefully it will be here before Halloween.

I wasn't sure what I was going to be, but I found this dress in a thrift shop and was like "ok, I guess that's what I'm gonna be for Halloween!" Paired with this headband, some black pumps, red lipstick and red nail polish, I'm good to go! A few days later, I saw the dress in H&M, being sold for real. It made me laugh. I can't see this dress as anything but a Minnie Mouse costume! Hee! I clicked on the dress without even reading the rest of your post, and immediately thought, "Minnie Mouse!" I have a framed Mona Lisa painting (20 x 24) with the canvas around the face cut out, and you place your head in there. It's held on with a strip of elastic across the back of the frame. In the old days, I'd wear a brown long sleeved, empire waisted dress and roller skates with it. These days, it's enough to just strap the painting on wearing basically...anything. (I painted the de-faced Mona Lisa portrait...and I must admit, it's very cool.) Yay, I'm glad it looks Minnie to you! Love the Mona Lisa idea... I want to see pics of everyone's costumes! Hope your shirt arrives on time, Shan! That is cute Progressive does that and isn't trying to sell all the merchandise themselves. It's too late, but I sort of kind of want a "Sexy Angry Birds" costume. No such thing exists, I already have a costume, and I am way not crafty. But - cute!

Without any invites to a Halloween party I hadn't even bothered to look for a costume. Now I get an invite for a party on Friday and the only day I have to look for anything is on Thursday, maybe not until Friday. Seriously. What the hell? It's always hard to buy a pre-made costume. They tend to be a bit too small somewhere. I have huge boobs and a big thighs. I'm thinking of just buying a mask and that's it. Screw it! After a few drinks who the hell is going to care anyway.

You could go the Wednesday Addams route: Wear your regular clothes and be a serial killer. "They look just like everybody else."
