Mock away! I bought these Ed Hardy boots from Zappos (LOVE THEM!) in a size 7. I got them, and they were like an entire size too big. I returned them and exchanged for a size 6—which I haven't been since 9th grade back when the dinosaurs walked the earth. I'm so afraid the 6's will be too small and I MUST HAVE THOSE BOOTS! Anyone have Ed Hardy boots/shoes? Do these run big or am I losing weight in my feet and I'm not even aware of it?

I was wondering if you all could help me. My friend is having a party to celebrate her graduation from college on Saturday, and I would like to get her a gift. The problem is I have no clue what to get her. What are you supposed to get somebody for their graduation? Is it like a birthday present where you just get them something they want? I'm going shopping tomorrow, and I would be grateful for any suggestions on things to look for. Thanks.

Graduation gifts are often tied to what the graduate is going to do next - nice briefcase or padfolio if they're heading into the corporate jungle, for example. There's nothing wrong with buying something that person will like that's unrelated to the "next step in life" thing. (Now, that's an unhelpful answer - the short version is "Do what you want!" )

You could get her this kit. I also googled "graduation gifts" and found this list, which supports what Spordelia said: Go on. Get her a car or a business suit! Oh, and nothing says "friendship" like a fax machine! ;D

The last graduation gift I got for someone was a great rolling writer from Office Max. I think I spent about $50 on it, it was one of those with the cool decorations on it, and the recipient loved it.
This may sound cold, but gift cards to his/her favorite store are a good idea too.
Sleepy - that's a nifty list you came up with.

I've decided that I'm going to spend my lunch hour shopping today. Gonna look for some long curvy t-shirts, poke through the DSW and see if they have some cute embellished flats and spend as long as I think I can get away with at the Ulta.
I cannot fucking wait.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! She hasn't really decided on a career yet. She's taking the summer off and then heading to grad school. I'm sure I'll be able to find something though!

You might want to see if you could get a gift card for the campus bookstore. As you know, textbooks are expensive!

I have a problem with accent rugs and chower curtains. I can't stop buying them and switching them out. I get bored with my decor, and it's a relatively inexpensive way to update the look of the place, so I get new stuff once or twice a year. It's kind of wasteful but it makes me happy, so whatever. Anyway, I just got this mat for the back entranceway. I got this rug for the upstairs bathroom, and this one for the downstairs bathroom. And this shower curtain. I'd really like to get fun colors in a shower curtain, but I have to have it somewhat clear because (a) you can't see what you're doing in the shower otherwise and (b) the bathroom is small, so a clear or translucent curtain makes it look bigger. I also got a really nice jute runner for the front hall. I can't find a picture of it online, but it's in muted red, brown, and mustard stripes, lengthwise. It's my favorite one of the bunch. Apparently red was the color of the day. GNC, I meant to ask if you had a successful shopping trip.
