Good job, Brookie. I love Nine West shoes, and you can't beat $11!

Okay Okay! So I bought these today. I've been lusting like crazy after these things for months. They're finally semi-affordable.

Poop! I can't get it to work either! Okay, go to www.ninewest.com and in the search area at the top of the page, type in "emery" (the shoe name). Sorry 'bout that.

I went shopping today for work clothes (meh) but managed to get about a billion things for under three hundred dollars in under two hours. I feel accomplished. And I know how some people feel about capri pants, but Express has tons of cropped Editor's for 19.99. Solids and prints. I got four pairs, and now I am set for at least 6 months (I wear the same things to work over and over because I don't care, and besides, you are gauranteed to look much better than the majority of the women that are walking crimes of fashion downtown). Anyway, go shopping NOW for work clothes, because Banana Republic was also having a huge sale.
ETA: Ann Taylor had lots of shells and cardigans for 19.99 and 29.99. Like really nice quality stuff. I hated buying that stuff while eyeing all the beatiful summer cocktail dresses that I have no need for at the time. Man, I wish someone was getting married next month!!

My FAVORITE Community thrift store had their last day in this area yesterday (they are moving waay over to the east side of this area, some place I'm just not willing to drive). By the time I got there (around 3:30pm), the place had been pretty well picked over. I did bag several pairs of slacks, a top, new pair of Nina comfy wedge shoes, couple of candles, and other miscellaneous doo-dads - at 90% off. I paid my $6.01 and left. I love that place, but I am planning on having more cash on hand with their departure.

Can anyone help with a purse question? I saw a messenger-style bag on a gal last weekend and I was about to ask her where she got it (I was walking in New Orleans a couple paces behind her) when she turned the corner and I decided against being a crazed purse stalking lady.
It was about 10-11" across and more square than rectangular. It was almost definitely pleather or some vinyl product and it had a Rothko/Mondrian effect of squares of color being asymmetrically sewn together, like the main field was mostly dark green, with a patch of apple and a spot of navy somewhere. The most distinctive characteristic overall was that it seemed to emit a "Made in Olympia, WA" vibe--slightly vegan, kinda femme but not girly. It was beautiful and now I've spent all night on teh google. Any advice?
