I downloaded a few different programs, but none worked. So I just decided to start using Mozilla, which I downloaded a few months ago and was just too lazy to actually use. Problem solved.

I'm thinking of going from a desktop to a laptop just for the size issue. Can someone confirm that I would be able to transfer all my Word files and my iTunes library easily to the new laptop? Is there a power cord that can connect the two for a transfer to happen?
And do most laptops have cd burners? I do have an external burner so it's not a huge issue, I just want tomake sure I'd have a place to plug it into the laptop if there isn't one in the laptop.

I've been unable to access any of my email accounts today (yahoo, hotmail and my work webmail), yet I can access any other website I try. Any ideas what that's about?

I believe so.
You might want to spend some extra money and get a wireless internet router so then you can create a home network.

I have a Mac and with that you plug a firewire cable into both, reboot the laptop while holding down the "T" key, and it temporarily makes the laptop a slave drive. I can easily drag and drop all my files onto either, making transfers of large information easy and fast. I don't know if you're mac or pc. If you're a pc I'm not sure what to do for that.

Help me Flickr-literate nerds!!!
I need to find a photo from a few months ago that I only have the ID to (you know, just a random bunch of letters and #'s) - it's from someone else's photostream and I can't remember who. Is there ANY way I can use that ID to find the photo? Help?!

I hate Internet Explorer and I want to rid my computer of it's shitty presence. I checked Add/Remove Programs but I didn't see it listed. How can I uninstall it?

I think it is a pain in the ass to remove IE.

I'm no computer expert, but I have heard that you shouldn't remove it because it will mess up your computer. I could be wrong. An acquaintance of mine deleted Outlook and it caused her no end of problems and, because she is a dumbass, she reset her computer to before any programs had been installed and had to get the computer people at school to fix it.
I would like to delete IE too, but LaconicDude (who uses IE and has no desire to change) says you shouldn't remove it. I want him to use Firefox (I do), but I don't know why IE is bad other than something about security, so I don't have much of an argument.

I found this from googling:
I think the only one that would be a problem is Windows updates, however I have automatic updates that don't even require opening an IE browser.
I've used Firefox for over a year and the only website I found I could not access was my bank, however they've changed their site so now I can. I'M FREE!
ETA: It's funny that IE is considered important for security since I found IE to be as helpful to security as using a strainer to catch water.
