This may be a dumb question, but if I buy a ebook for the Kindle, can I read it on my laptop?

I have two Kindles and an iPhone with the Kindle app. I can sync my Kindle purchase to all three. They even keep track of where I am in the book, so If I'm reading outside on the outside Kindle, it will sync to that page on my iPhone when I sit waiting for a train, and back to my inside Kindle when I read at night. I'm thinking if your laptop can get a Kindle app, you can sync.

Here's the link for the the Kindle for PC app. I'm sure there's a comparable mac app. I've read books on the PC app and it works just like famvir says her iPhone app works.

I love Kindle for PC. Sometimes I'm just too lazy to go get the Kindle so I pull up the app and read from the laptop.

FYI, I landed in Atlanta this morning, and the iPhone app appears to be working again.

Dropped my iPhone on a sidewalk Wednesday and shattered the shit out of the screen. Luckily I have a screen protector, so it still works, and the glass shards didn't break into a million pieces all over the place. Anyway, I have the iPhone insurance through AT&T, so I figure I'm covered, right? I called them immediately afterwards, and they told me that my deductible is $199. WTF? Why am I paying for insurance. I went to Apple tonight to see what they could do for me, and they said they could replace the phone for $149. The whole thing is a bite in the ass, but I'll just go w/ Apple. I found a website of some guy in my area that apparently replaces the glass (why the hell are they made with glass anyway?) but it's $100, and they have to send the phone away for awhile. For $50 more I can just have a new phone.
Total bite in the ass. So annoyed that happened. I'm considering getting an Otterbox case after this.

Glass was probably the most aesthetically pleasing option to Steve Jobs. Beautiful, yes. Most efficient and cost-effective option? Maybe. Practical? Nope. My daughter said that a classmate accidentally ran over her Otterboxed iPhone--the phone was unharmed, but the Otterbox is a bit worse for wear. Everyone I know highly recommends them.

Hmm, I just ordered a little leather flip case for my new HTC phone, but maybe I'll look into the Otterbox after all -- I nixed it because the only one they offer is the Commuter series, not the Defender.

Mr. carrier76 had a leather case for his iPhone 3, and he liked it for protection. It too was a flip case, and the back side was weighted, so that when he dropped it it always fell on its back ("Like a cat!"--me). He even set the phone on top of his car once and drove away, got down the street, realized what he had done, and when he got out of the car, that leather had managed to kind of stick to the car roof. The only thing he didn't like about that case was that it was bulky and was kind of a pain. That was a few years ago; I'm sure they're more streamlined now.
I bought the screen cover through my local AT&T store, and it was $24 w/ lifetime, unlimited replacement, as long as I brought the damaged screen cover back to them. That kind of saved my phone and I won't go w/out one in the future.
