Man, one of my nieces has started to Facebook these "Military Wall of Honor" posts. They are some military ministry, incredibly long long LONG posts and show up daily. They push all the other Facebook posts to the bottom of the page. On my smartphone, I can't retrieve Facebook pages once they fall off the bottom. I've taken her off my "show in newsfeed", so her posts should not be showing up, and in fact, these are the only ones that do. I've also made sure that I am not subscribing to the Military Wall site....but it just keeps coming. Any ideas? Long winded passages with chapter and verse (literally) and close up pictures of a bleeding tortured Jesus is not want I want to see when checking to see if my son made it off Half Dome yesterday. So she's hitting Share? You might want to just tell her that she needs to ensure that you are not on her list for those posts.

Thanks, sunnyhorse! I at least was able to delete the current post (including pic of agonized Jesus bleeding from 90 percent of his broken, up close and personal, mutilated body. I never saw Mel Gibson's "The Passion", but I imagine this would have been one of the more graphic scenes.) Since I haven't spoken to the niece for over four years, I think I'll send off an email to her mom. I'd hate for my first contact to be me telling her to take me off her share list.
Thanks again.
ETA, I can't tell you the relief to scroll down and read messages from just friends and loved ones. Last week I somehow got on a pro- Romney list! But was able to extricate myself from that one. I even stopped the FarmVille, Scrabble and songster updates!

So I have subscribed to Rhapsody for music but can't seem to find a way to actually download the songs on to my phone. I'm trying to find some instructions on how to do so on my phone, but nada. When I press queue, it just puts the song in question into my library in the app.
Is Spotify better? I hear it is the same price.

Does anyone have any experience using GoDaddy for web hosting? I volunteered to maintain the website for a group, and I logged in to the group's account but I cannot figure out how to get to the content or anything beyond the billing information, and the tutorials are not very helpful. Any advice would be helpful--I'm more used to WordPress and blogger, and this is kind of a baffler.

I remember going in and making changes, but the changes didn't appear for over 24 hours. It wasn't an immediate update. Very confusing. My sympathies.

I decided to use my words, so I called customer support, and it's definitely confusing and not intuitive, but now I know! Yay! Also, there was a secret password that needed an update, which I don't think I would have known if I hadn't called.

Chonies, are they using a service like Website Tonight or InstantPages, or just having their site hosted? You'll have a way to edit online with WT/IP, login >click my account in upper right > scroll down to WebsiteTonight/InstantPages > expand selection by hitting + symbol > click launch for appropriate product > edit If they're just being hosted the GoDaddy tools aren't that great. login >click my account in upper right > scroll down to webhosting > expand selection by hitting + symbol > click launch for appropriate hosted site > you can download files you need to edit using the FTP file manager button located in the upper left or under the content menu > edit on your computer using Notepad or other editor > reupload user the FTP file manager. (hit the upload button a the top of the File Manager screen. be very careful you have the correct location selected on your site before you upload.) If you're not comfortable editing using Notepad, or you don't have an editor you can try the free one at Coffeecup, it's pretty basic, but if all you're doing is basic updates of text or images, it'll do the trick. If you need more tools, like built in FTP or CSS tools, the other Coffeecup editors are reasonably priced. There are also better FTP software programs out there, many of which are free, and it might be worth downloading one since the GoDaddy version is clunky and not very user friendly. ETA: looks like you found what you were looking for. Have fun with the updates.

LAX, thanks for the extra tips! Really, I was so elated to be able to delete the Lorem Ipso that I didn't realize how suckular the editing tools are, which I am rapidly...grrr. I really appreciate all the info and will spend the rest of the day poking around.

Thankfully I didn't need to contact my niece, the site disappeared when I reported it as spam on Facebook.

Last night, while I was surfing a deadline wave, I suddenly started getting all these pop-ups from Security Shield, a purported anti-viral software that looks too much like Norton and my MacAfee, insisting that my computer was infected and I must download Security Shield's latest update NOW!!!
The only thing I was infected with was Security Shield, but it very effectively blocked me from almost everything on my computer in a matter of minutes. Usually, this induces panic, but I stayed calm, got on my BlackBerry, and found a MacAfee forum where I got a detailed description of the virus file and where to look for it. I found the file, shredded it, and deleted the residual files accompanying it. All by myself. Now my computer works normally. I am ridiculously proud of myself.
And if you see anything with Security Shield pop up on your machine, don't click on anything! Let it fade--this one's really nasty, and some of those who got duped into "purchasing" the "software" got their credit cards maxed out instead. You may have to remove it yourself, or get help, but don't fall for their pitch!
