Ugh, technology. I'm such an incompetent with it.
So, a question about iPad + Netflix.
I have Netflix on my iPad and it has worked fine from the beginning until... we went on holiday to the US and watched some stuff while there. Now it's constantly giving me error messages about not loading and stuff like that. I goggled and found someone who suggested starting a new profile, which I did and it worked again! For one episode, then same old messages. Netflix help line is useless since they keep suggesting it's an Internet service problem (it's not). Netflix works fine on another computer using my same login info, so it's not them.
Must be the iPad, but why? How did it become incompatible with Netflix? And why did taking it out of country start the trouble? And how can I fix it?

Have you tried deleting the Netflix app and reinstalling it? I've had to do that before when it was giving us fits on one of the kiddo's iPad minis.

Can anyone recommend a GPS watch that is accurate and not a million dollars? My app drains my phone's life on longer runs, and my Nike+ feature on my iPod can't do basic cartography. Awhile ago, but in case you're still lookng. I bought a Polar M400. I paid around $175 or so. I think the GPS function works very well. I was just intending to use it only during my runs, but I now use it as my everyday watch. Only annoyance is that i can't manually change the time, when I'm in a new timezone or it's DST. I have to connect it to my laptop, then the time changes. But I never bring my laptop with me to trips. I never use the heartrate monitor thingy. Never ever.

My Netflix won't ever turn off the closed captions on any device/screen. It's incredibly annoying but I can't figure it out.

Gigiree, I did delete and reinstall, but it didn't help. Very frustrating.

Mugsy,
(LOL-autocorrect tried to change your screen name to "Mugshot"). How frustrating for you! I did a bit of Googling on your problem, and two suggestions are to check that your date/time settings are correct and to reset your network settings. I'll keep looking--fell down a Reddit rabbit hole re: Netflix issues...

I went to our local TWC service office yesterday to replace a very old cable box that had finally died. After the staff had gathered to ooh and aah over the prehistoric relic that I had presented ("Wow--I've never seen one that old in person!"), my agent said, "Let's look at your current package and see if it needs a tweak".
Somehow I walked out of there with a revised package that adds home phone (our AT&T line box is in the neighbor's yard and the phone sounds terrible when it rains), ups our internet to 300mps, upgrades our DVR boxes and storage space, and adds two movie options and Sports Pass while retaining everything we already had. And we'll be paying 35% less per month (for three years, at least).
I should add that because Mr. d loves his Premier League Soccer so much, our only real options here are TWC and AT&T--and AT&T is horrible. Otherwise, I would seriously consider ditching cable completely. We've always been very happy with TWC, and I'm looking forward to saving some money.

Sounds like you have better luck with TWC than my mom does, she had to browbeat them mercilessly to get a decent package and to get them to fix her cable box.

Mr. Cho and have agreed that the moment the soccer world produces a good web package we're cutting cable. Until then...

I catch sporting events on Stream2watch.me (I can also watch regular channels on their site). The only downside is I have to watch in real time and can't pause anything if I need to, and because it's streaming video, it sometimes buffers at inopportune times. I haven't had cable or a TV for 2 years, and I don't miss it.
I got a VPN service last week so I can also watch ITV and BBC (but sadly Amazon Prime, Hulu and Netflix won't play if VPN is turned on).
