So our home has 2 PS4s that are frequently played simultaneously plus a kid who watches netflix, leading to bandwidth issues. Moving our wireless router so that one of the PS4s can plug in directly isn't an option so I wondered if a signal booster would do the trick? Any ideas? You know, besides telling everyone in my house to turn off screens and do something.

I tried one of those plug in boosters and found it to be more a hindrance than a help. It kept disconnecting the devices, and you had to re-log in, and it didn't do much to improve speed/connectivity. I think a second router is your best bet - I'm heading that way myself as our ground floor is a deadish zone and of course, that's where the TV with Netflix is!

I finally broke down last night and spent 6 hours updating our iPhones to the current iOS, 9.3.1.
As expected, I hate it. Why did my note app have to be a boring white screen with boring block text? I went through three versions of 3rd party note apps before I found one that looked like the old app.
We had been still on iOS 6. We preferred the look of it. This new environment looks like a Playskool phone.
What dragged me into the new decade? The crappy US Bank app. They pulled a Microsoft and did a forced update that rendered it dysfunctional on any older iOS. When I called to complain, they basically said "Tough shit, luddite!"
TL;DR: Yay! I turned our iPhones into Samsungs!
ETA: At least I found the button that let me turn the system text to "bold", so the text is thick enough to be visible without a magnifying glass...

If anyone has an iPad 2 do not install that update. It's pretty much guaranteed to lock up your device, your only option is a factory restore and you may not even be able to do that. (After two weeks of trying every possible thing Apple / the Internet could think of, I finally got mine working again.)

A friend of mine did just that. Had that very problem.
He is in the end stages of fighting stage 4 colon cancer, (and he spent 3 weeks in intensive care after a bad reaction to the chemo he needs). He actually spent a few days arguing with Apple about an update that bricked his device. Like he doesn't have more important things to deal with.
There is a special place in hell for whoever decided releasing tech updates that break the device they are installed on is perfectly acceptable.

I have an HTC phone that went dead last night. I charged it but can't get the screen to come on. What button do I push? What to do? I'm definitely technologically challenged.

Batmom, going back to your wifi issue, I got this on amazon:Linksys Powerline AV 1-Port Network Adapter Kit (PLEK400) and it has worked. We set it up to hard wire our Roku in, and it has been 100% successful.

Thanks, Gigiree. Daughter in law fixed it.
