I told them that the recent IOS update that was released last week seemed to cause problems with a few of the apps I use. Their response was "You should just try to hang on to it. A lot of times, it'll take them a few months to work out all the little bugs in the updates." Sorry to go back to this, but over the past couple of days, I've seen about 3 or 4 posts on instagram where people have complained about how the recent update made their phones glitchy. Is anyone else experiencing this? Also, is this something that actually is common with ios devices? I am the queen of not updating anything because y'all shoulda made it how it was supposed to be when it came out of the box. Honestly, I rarely update anything and the way my phone has been working for the last week or two makes me hesitant to ever update anything in the future. eta chitowngirl , ladyboy's posts mostly have it covered, but just for backup reference, from what you said it sounds like you already own your own domain. If you want to use your own .com (or whatever) domain, most of the free sites will require you to have a service plan either with them or some other company and then point that to their free site. But there are some companies like hostgator that are really cheap, like $3/4 a month. They also walk you through transferring your domain. Yes, wix.com is a free site and charges for the service of the domain, but with a 3 year plan, it’s only $3.50/month. It was the website builder fee of over $100/year on godaddy that was killing us. With a few clicks I got the domain changed over, rebuilt the site and it looks fabulous!

Ok, probably a stupid question but here goes. I want to get some sort of screen to use to watch netflix and roku on to replace our flat screen TV. I want something that we can take out and put away so it's not a dominant feature in the room. It needs to be biggish - not ipad sized, but also not a 50 inch screen either. Do I need to get a computer or a TV to do this with? Is there some sort of tablet-y thing that would serve my needs? Main goal is portable-ish/put-away-able and okay for a group to watch. Oh, and not a bloody fortune if possible! I keep thinking there must be a display somehow that works for this...
ETA I don't think I can do a projector type of thing for lack of flat wall space that would be suitable to project on, and I'm not digging a pull down screen either.

So now Sprint is texting me ads for their new phones. Of course, I can't opt out because I have Sprint. Ugh, I'm so sick of constantly being marketed to. Leave me be! Perhaps I'm meant to live off the grid...

We got a Roku TV for Traffic's dad while he's staying with us. It is basically a Roku box built into a 19" lcd monitor. It's only good for streaming as it has no cable input, but it works great, and is small and light enough to be tucked away if you want it out of view. Found it at Best Buy for about $100.

This was not lovely to read on a Monday morning - Gab, the social media site used by the synagogue murderer had been shut down by its former hosting company, GoDaddy(!) but was picked up by Seattle-based Epik.
Sure, Jan. Note his name is literally Monster!

I'm considering getting Batguy a smartwatch for Christmas. Looking for fitness tracking (would be happy with pedometer and heart but heart rate has to be accurate because he's hyper vigilant since his heart attack and if it gives a bad reading he's inclined to freak out.) Also would like notifications and a nice to have would be Spotify controls. He has an android.
Any experience here?

The Samsung watch got good reviews when I was shopping around for my sportwatch.

I'm in the in-between generation of no-tech vs all-tech and I have a dumb question. I want to be able to listen to music through earbuds at work but I can't find any with a cord long enough. Can wireless earbuds be used with a desktop computer if I have a USB? Kind of like a wireless keyboard? Any brand recommendations?

You can find bluetooth adapters online, but, then, you could also find a headphone extension cord online, too. I have found extension cords at Big Lots as well, if you have one of those nearby.
