As a rule of thumb you could say that .exe files will not run on a Mac, they are MS Windows executables (programs). Mac programs have the, normally hidden, extension .app. Sadly, december is right, many companies will tell you that something will run on any OS when they mean it will run on any Windows OS.
Actually, the built-in Airport card supports most of the common wireless standards. If you know what the wireless network you want to access is called you can look for it using the Airport utilities on your Mac. Configuring it may be a bit of a hassle if you are not really used to this kind of thing, but it should work.

It wouldn't happen to be a Toshiba, would it? I've got a Toshiba laptop that shuts down periodically when it gets overheated (even though the vents and such aren't being blocked). I've currently got it on a lap pad futher jacked up in the back with a couple of wine corks. So far, so good, but it's a pain. Is there something I should know/get fixed ASAP?

I have a Toshiba satellite that did that occasionally--but I thought it was just me! I was in the habit of using it in bed and when it would get hot to the touch I would put it on a hard flat surface to let it breathe. I don't know if there's anything wrong exactly, but I'm in the habit of anthropomorphizing appliances and I usually end up "intuiting" a diagnosis. In this case, "oh, poor lap-toppy is overheated!" and just fix it that way. I suppose the smart thing to do is trot over to Toshiba discussion boards and such, but I'm reluctant.

Generally, mine is ok, but recently it has taken to shutting down when I try to rip a CD. It burns CDs ok, but ripping causes it to overheat. Quite frustrating!
You'd think with all the time I do spend on discussion boards, that a Toshiba board would have crossed my mind by now. I guess I should look into that.

Is there anyone here who's particularly good with HTML codes? I picked out a gorgeous background for my MySpace page. I copied the code and pasted it in my "About Me" section, like I'm supposed to do. The page works, and everything looks fabulous - except for the "My Interests" part - Music, Movies, Television and General - are all showing up as nothing but a bunch of commas and semi-colons. Other than that, the page works, just not that section. I've tried to find the contact info for the person who created the page layout, but couldn't find it. Is there anyone here who's good at that? If I emailed you the code, would anyone here be able to fix that part? I really love this layout! Thanks in advance for anyone who can help.

Does anyone know anything about Macs? My macbook is possessed I think. I'll be listening to Itunes then click on the internet box to bring that to the front and the sound on Itunes shuts off. It's weird.

India, have you tried somthing like the MySpace editor[/color]? I haven't used it myself personally, but I have heard that it is one of the easier tools when you want to customize your page. I prefer to use a premade layout, and there are about a gazillion sites for the premade stuff if you seach google using "MySpace Layouts".

Well, see that's the thing, Limey - I do use pre-made pages because I have no idea how to do HTML on my own. This page I want to use is GORGEOUS - it's exactly like the one I have up there now with the violets, but the background is black instead of white - very intense and cool looking. The only problem is, that in the "Interests" area, the code doesn't work, so all the lettering is coming out in black. You can see it if you highlight it, but not if viewing the page normally (so basically, "My Interests" look like spoilers - hee!). I copied the code to a word document and tried playing around with it on my own - changing all text that said "Black" to "white" but it didn't work. So it is a pre-made layout, but something got screwed up with whoever made it, and I can't find an email address to ask them if they can fix it.
Honestly, if anyone here is good with HTML, I could email the code to you if you think it can be fixed.

Have you tried copying the interests area code from the layout with the white background, or would that not work either? Maybe you could do that and switch the colours in that?
I know nothing about code, though, so I can't really help beyond obvious suggestions.

I did think about doing that - but the problem is, since I don't know HTML, I don't know where the Interests codes start and end. It's a good suggestion, laconicchick - we both thought of it, we just don't know how to execute it! ;D
