The ones I'm trying to upload are just everyday normal JPG Files.... Except that I copied them from that Target CD.

My MS word is doing something weird. I know I have a certain number of pages on the paper I'm writing, and the page number count at the bottom keeps adding pages. I don't know why. It just told me I had 3 more pages than I actually have, but usually it's 2 pages ahead. It's so distracting! Why would it do this? (Probably that ends up being rhetorical, since it's Microsoft and they can, I guess.)

My guy checked out my computer and he said the reason why I can't change my homepage is because Hewlett-Packard installed something that prevents me from changing it. He said he thinks he can disable it but he needs to find out what it is. Any ideas?

The only thing that I remember on my computer (and it didn't affect the browser) was something called "backdoor" which I discovered is some back entrance so that HP/Compaq could see what I had done if I asked for some service thing. My virus scan kept picking it up, so I changed the name (I didn't know that it was HP/Compaq.) It's now called "gotofuckinghell" - I figured if it was something bad, the evildoers would know my opinion!

I think there is something wrong with the heat sync in my laptop. There are times where the keyboard gets really hot while the computer is running. I just need this thing to last until the end of the school year, because I've already had a harddrive meltdown this year. I make sure all the vents aren't blocked or anything, so I think its some hardware issue.
And on top of that, I thought there was something wrong with my network card, because it wouldn't open a second Internet Explorer page when I clicked on a link. It turns out something was wrong with the network configurations the school forces us to download. After the mandatory upgrade the other day, everything is back to normal. So, I was all freaked out for nothing.

Two of my friends who have Dells have major overheating problems with their computers. For one of them, it eventually ruined the motherboard, for the other he has to keep it elevated partially off his desk using a book or else it gets too hot to use.

It hard to do without being there but first is it a mac compatiable? I know that it sounds like I am talking down to you but the thing is a lot of companies also say any Operating System when all they mean is any Windows Operating System. My friend had that problem after she switched but then all she ended up doing was getting a airport and going wireless as the company was no help at all. Other than that the fact thats its opening a word document may mean that you don't have a program that is need to run it.
Sorry its not that useful but for me at least I kinda have to be there to fiddle with it.

As a graduation present, I'm asking my parents to get me a new monitor, and an USB flash drive. I need some advice on that:
1)What is a good amount of memory to have? I think 1 GB should be enough, but I need a second opinion. 2)What is a reasonable price to pay? 3)Are there any particular brands I should get/avoid?

I am not really sure what a flash drive does but if you have an old notebook computer or LCD moniter hanging around you can get one free from Toshiba for recycling. We sent them an old notebook and we got this little tiny thing that my kids use to bring work back and forth to school with. Toshiba's Environmental Recovery and Recycling Effort--Toshiba will recycle any manufacturer's notebook computer, LCD monitor, or pocket PC free of charge. As an added incentive, Toshiba will send the system's owner a USB flash drive. link[/color]
