Yesterday was my birthday and I had: Breakfast:A bagel with cream cheese and a few sips of (bad) coffee from Noah's bagels. Then a vegan donut. Lunch: We went to the pool at the Francis Ford Coppola Winery all day! Started with a bottle of rose, split between me and three friends. Then a tuna sandwich with homemade chips (I actually never eat tuna because of sustainability issues, but have been cheating a little bit lately. Hmm.). Then we split a bottle of sparkling wine, then I had an adult slushly lemonade with vodka and topped with sparkling wine. For dinner I had my favorite olives (Castelveltrano) and a whole sliced avocado with sea salt (hey, it was my birthday!). Then I had bucatini with this fab-u-lous tomato sauce (hey WitchyPoo, it's from the girl who started Delancey!) followed by a piece of vegan cake. I'm totally not vegan, but it's all the healthfood store I went to had, ha! Today I had the return of oat bran with butter and a poached egg, with French press coffee, sliced white peach and raspberries. Snacked on a Clif crunchy Zbar, then for lunch had a piece of toast with cheddar and some sliced apple. Dinner should be leftover bucatini. Though nachos are tempting, too...

We've been eating watermelon and goat cheese salad all week. I've had a craving for it for a while, but when we hit up the grocery store, all they had was a whole, smallish watermelon. Worried that they wouldn't have any watermelon again any time soon, we bought the whole damn thing. Fortunately, I really do love watermelon and goat cheese together. I've still got watermelon left, but sadly no more goat cheese. We've had the salad with drumettes, healthyish homemade chicken nuggets, and pork chops these past few nights. Lunch yesterday (and probably today) is a small tortilla spread lightly with leverworst, and some sweet and sour pickle slices on the side. And watermelon. It's more a case of clear out the fridge. Dinner tonight is steak, fries with mayo, and haricot vert. Can't wait!

Hmm, goat cheese. I'm going to make roasted balsamic-honey butternut squash and goat cheese salad tonight.

Happy belated, citrus! Your food exploits sound amazing!
So far today I have eaten a few bites of coconut milk ice cream* (chocolate flavor.) It's so weird that I love coconut milk products (yogurt, ice cream) but hate plain coconut milk.
*Wisdom teeth came out yesterday - I have tons of gelato, sorbet, and cans of tomato soup, but I'm open to "soft food" ideas if you greecies have any!

I had my wisdoms out six weeks ago. Soft food good ideas: mashed potatoes (instant works, if you'd like). I'd let it cool a bit, and then break off little blobs and swallow them whole to bypass the dental area altogether. Guacamole or other avocado byproducts are also awesome, especially when you're tired of eating bland, white food. I also felt good with Greek yogurt around. Bad ideas: pasta, unless it's been cooked to death. It actually needed more chewing than I anticipated.

I'm still craving that Delancey pizza. Can't wait for my mom's visit so we can go together.

Still on the post-wisdom teeth soft food festival. Breakfast: Smoothie with frozen pineapple, a banana, a splash of vanilla almond milk, and a spoonful of yogurt. Snacks (interspersed throughout the day): Sea Salted Caramel gelato; Raspberry Cabernet Sorbetto; Chocolate Coconut Milk ice cream with a scoop of peanut butter. Lunch: Tomato soup Dinner: Broccoli cheddar soup (too salty) from Corner Bakery; and a dinner roll (!) from Corner Bakery (also salty, soaked in the soup until I could crush it with my front teeth and swallow it.) Currently making: Mujaddara[/color] for my lunch for the week! I can't believe I didn't think of this rice/lentil/caramelized onion mixture earlier. Would have saved me a lot of super-salty soups!

I would like everyone to know that I tried oysters for the first time. As someone who was a massively picky eater as a child, this is no small accomplishment.
The weird part was eating them in New Mexico, and not on the East Coast.

I totally forgot to check back - thanks everyone for the birthday wishes!
I just had a really yummy breakfast! I sauteed some red onions and a red bell pepper (separately) on really low heat until they were sweet. It took for-freakin'-ever, but was totally worth it when I scrambled them with an egg and some goat cheese, and topped it with more goat cheese. Yum! I also had a piece of toast (Whole Foods whole wheat touch of honey - it was great) topped with Irish butter. And some peach slices.
Turkey sandwich for lunch most likely (with pepperocinis, hummus, red onion and sharp cheddar) and Pop Chips. Tonight my 9-year-old brother and I are making pizzas. I'll make him a plain cheese one, and I'm going to make another one with the leftover sauteed onions and red peppers, fresh corn off the cob, and olives. Maybe some goat cheese on that one, too. Yum. We are also going to the Farmers Market to get stuff to make peach-blueberry popsicles!

Mmmm, goat cheese. I have some in my fridge right now. I love to spread it on warm, toasted garlic naan.
My lunch today, and for the past three days, is Tofurkey on Ezekiel bread with lots of brown mustard and romaine lettuce. Something about the texture of all the ingredients pleases me. I'm also really digging cold Fuji apples right now and Kashi baked cereal bars.
Heading to a friend's bbq later so I'm sure I'll eat some grilled meats and tasty sides. My contribution is a mess of chewy chocolate chunk marshmallow cookie bars that I came across on the internet yesterday. They look tasty and I love chewy baked things.
