It wasn't Typhoon. This was in Bothell, a place called Pen Thai. I just looked up Typhoon's menu and the appetizer is called Miang Kum, same as it was called at Pen Thai. So super delicious.

This morning I went to brunch with my bff. Yum. The eggs benedict with crabcakes instead of canadian bacon was divine. And the bloody marys were awesome.

yum!
Tonight, I had planned to cook steaks but my daughter got asked to dinner at a friend's house and I knew she'd be PISSED if we had steak without her. So I made turkey cutlets with lemon slices and thyme. But the star of the meal was a casserole I made with fennel, cauliflower, and gruyere. So damned delicious. I realized after that I meal was really white and needed some color. Next time, I think I'll add some zucchini and parsley to the casserole. It's delicious, though. Can't wait for leftovers!

Eggs Benedict with crabcakes? Yes please! MrsCatHead, your dinner is making me think I might go that route for our dinner tonight and make turkey cutlets that I marinate in a mix of olive oil, lemon juice, mustard, and thyme. After last night's dinner of pizza, and breakfast/lunch of fried egg on cheese toast, with a side of french fries, I need something light and healthy! Yesterday's carbfest was in reaction to the bock beer festival we'd gone to the night before.

On Saturday for lunch I made a curried carrot soup, with onions, garlic and ginger. For dinner tonight I think I'll heat up some of the leftovers and pair it with a frozen vegan pizza I bought yesterday.

Tonight I'm going to a community dinner called a "Humble Feast Dinner". They're put on twice a month. The menu is local, seasonal, vegan/vegetarian and served buffet-style. Tonight's items include biscuits and gravy, salad, Delicata squash stuffed with wild rice, collard greens and a pear and ginger crisp. Sounds delicious.

I made a Chicken Chili the other day with pinto beans, lots of veggies, and some Chipotle peppers from a can. Today for lunch, I topped it with some mixed shredded cheese, and ate it with some baked corn tortilla chips.
Next time I make it I'll have to increase the spice level. This doesn't have quite enough heat for me.

I had some leftover spaghetti so I made chicken noodle soup, using homemade stock and veg from the garden.
